About this set

About the Media and streaming icons

Media icons for people who publish sound, video and news. The set covers listening (Headphones, Equalizer, Podcast, Radio), watching (Smart TV, Video player, Streaming, Live broadcast) and making (Recording studio, Clapperboard, Video editing, Photo shoot). Community icons such as Comments, Moderation and Subscribe cover the audience side.

Where they fit

On a podcast page, Podcast sends sound waves pulsing from the microphone. On a channel or studio page, Live broadcast blinks the camera's live light while the signal pulses. On a newsroom page, News rolls the newspaper out. They also fit subscription prompts, show notes, upload screens and help articles for your audience.

One look across the set

Each icon sits on the same 400 by 320 canvas with the same line weight and one accent colour. The Music player, with its spinning vinyl record, and the Audiobook icon look like siblings, so a programme guide, a features grid or a help page holds together visually from top to bottom.

From the email to your page

  1. Open the email and download the ZIP. The svg folder holds the animated icons, and preview.html shows them all moving.
  2. For a looping icon, use the file as an image: an img tag with width 240 and height 192 keeps the 5:4 frame.
  3. For hover play, accent colour and dark mode, paste the SVG markup into your page instead of linking the file.
  4. Add data-play="hover" to the svg to play it only on hover, or data-cm-play="hover" on the card around it.
  5. Set --cm-accent to your brand colour, and add data-theme="dark" on dark backgrounds.

FAQ

Questions about the Media and streaming icons

  • Yes. You can use them on websites, apps, products and client projects, and attribution is appreciated but not required. You can't sell or share them as icons, claim them as your own or use them in a logo. The media and streaming set follows the same terms as the rest of the Library, and the license page has the full text.

  • The Media and streaming set has 24 icons. They arrive over 3 weeks, 8 a week, and the first batch comes as soon as your email is confirmed. The set covers audio, video and news, plus audience tools like comments and subscribe, so one batch at a time you build a full library for your pages.

  • Type your email into the form on this page, then confirm it from the message we send. The first batch of icons arrives straight away, and more follow each week until the set is complete. One address can follow one industry. Unsubscribe whenever you like.

  • Yes, the SVG files are fully editable in Figma, Illustrator and other vector tools. Adjust shapes, scale or colours freely. The movement is plain CSS inside the file, so an editor displays the still pose while the original SVG keeps moving on the web. GIF and PNG versions arrive in each batch too.

  • No. Each icon is a small SVG with its motion in plain CSS, with no JavaScript and no fonts to load. Visitors who have reduced motion turned on see the still pose instead. For a publisher whose pages already carry players and ads, a light icon file is one less thing to load.
