The Problem
It shows up as the catalog grows, when Search Console reports thousands of crawled filter URLs while new products wait weeks to be indexed.
Filters
Every filter combination creates a new URL for Google to crawl.
Filters
We set rules so only filter pages with search demand get indexed.
Duplicates
Products show up under several category paths at once.
Duplicates
One canonical URL per product, with category paths removed from product links.
Retired items
Discontinued products return 404 errors and lose their backlinks.
Retired items
We redirect retired products through URL rewrites to the closest live item.
Thin copy
Category pages carry one line of manufacturer text.
Thin copy
We write category copy around the searches buyers use for that range.
You open Search Console and see more filter combinations crawled than products you sell. Every color, size, and price filter makes a new URL. Products appear under several category paths, each with its own address. Discontinued items return 404s, and their backlinks go with them. The category pages carry one line of manufacturer copy. Full-page cache misses on half the templates, so Google waits on every page and crawls fewer of them.
We start in the admin and the templates, because that is where most catalog SEO problems are made and fixed. Our Magento SEO services set clear rules for layered navigation, pick one canonical URL per product, and drop category paths from product URLs where they duplicate pages. Retired products get redirects through URL rewrites. Then category and product copy is rewritten around real searches, so the pages Google reaches are the ones that sell.
Layered navigation under control
Filter URLs crawled only where they match real searches, with the rest kept out of the index.
One canonical URL per product
Category paths and duplicate product URLs consolidated, so ranking signals land on one page.
Discontinued products handled
Retired products redirected to the closest match instead of leaving 404 errors behind.
Our Magento SEO Process
Our findings in your Magento admin and templates come to you first, you approve every change on staging, and get a monthly report linking organic visits to revenue.
We crawl the store, read Search Console's page indexing report, and review your SEO settings, layered navigation, and URL rewrites. You get a ranked list of issues with the URLs affected and the hours each fix takes.
Projects We've Built
Online stores with large catalogs that we designed and built. Their category and product templates are the kind our SEO programs improve.

What's Included
Every plan covers the admin settings and template fixes Magento needs, category and product copy, and reporting on organic revenue, all shipped through staging.
Compare Options
An SEO extension helps when a developer can configure it, and a general agency brings broad marketing. On a large Magento catalog, the gaps show here.
| Feature | DeveloperLookBest fit | SEO extension | Generic agency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Catalog keyword map | Categories, filters, and products mapped | Not included | Keyword list, often generic |
| Layered navigation rules | Set by search demand | Rules engine, you configure | Rarely handled in depth |
| Canonical and duplicate URLs | One URL per product | Settings available | Often reported, not fixed |
| Template and schema fixes | Done in your theme | Partial, depends on extension | Passed to your developer |
| Speed and caching | Cache and templates tuned | Plugin suggestions | |
| Content and links | Monthly copy and outreach | Included, depth varies | |
| Monthly cost | From $950 per month | One-time license fee | Retainer, scope set by agency |
| Upgrade safety | Checked after each Magento upgrade | Needs updates per release | Rarely checked |
What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built websites, apps, and platforms for.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything we’ve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
What I appreciate most is that the website is actually easy for us to manage now. We can update content ourselves instead of sending a developer a message every time we need to change something small. They also paid attention to the technical SEO side, which mattered to us because we didn’t want a new website to create problems for the traffic we already had. I’ve probably asked more questions than I should have since launch, but every question has been handled patiently and without any fuss. The team is easy to work with, they explain things clearly, and when we need something changed, they focus on getting it done rather than making the process complicated.

Work Culture
Magento changes can break checkout or indexing in one release. These habits keep your store selling while we change settings, templates, and URLs across thousands of products.
Every setting and template change runs on staging and gets a crawl comparison first. A broken canonical rule costs us an afternoon, not your category rankings.
We keep SEO changes in your theme or a small module, not in Magento core files. Your next Magento or Adobe Commerce upgrade won't wipe them out.
We write rules for thousands of products and filters, not fixes one page at a time. When you add a new range, it inherits the right URLs and tags.
If an SEO extension you own already handles a job, we'll configure it instead of rebuilding it. We'll also tell you when one is causing the problem.
We work through admin and Git accounts you create and can remove whenever you like. Every change, redirect, and report stays with your store if we part ways.
Each release lists the settings, templates, and URL rewrites we touched, with dates. If traffic moves after a deploy, you can trace the cause in minutes.

Good fit
Stores with large Magento catalogs
Your Magento catalog has thousands of SKUs, and Search Console shows filter and sort URLs crawled far more often than products.
Stores after a Magento 2 upgrade
You moved from Magento 1 or upgraded Magento 2, and organic traffic fell because URL keys, redirects, or category paths changed.
B2B stores on Adobe Commerce
You run B2B catalogs on Adobe Commerce and need a Magento SEO consultant who understands shared catalogs and customer group pricing.
Teams wanting a Magento SEO expert
Your in-house developers handle releases but want a Magento SEO expert to set the rules and check each deploy before it ships.
Agencies needing a Magento SEO specialist
Your agency builds Magento stores and needs a Magento SEO specialist to run monthly SEO for clients under your brand.
Not a fit
Budget under $950 a month
If $950 a month is more than the store can spend on search, start with our Ecommerce SEO Audit, a one-time review your developers can act on.
Upgrade comes first
Your store runs Magento 1 or an unsupported 2.x release. Our Magento 2 Upgrade and Migration Services should come first, with SEO checks built in.
Moving to Shopify
You've decided to leave Magento for Shopify. Our Magento to Shopify Migration service maps every URL first, so the SEO work belongs there.
Small, simple catalog
Your store has a few dozen products and little filter navigation. You don't need a Magento SEO agency; our broader Ecommerce SEO Services program fits.

Yes, Magento is good for SEO when it's configured well, and it gives you more control than most hosted platforms. You get editable URL keys, meta fields per product and category, canonical tag settings, URL rewrites, and an XML sitemap built in. The catch is that defaults such as layered navigation and category paths create duplicate URLs at scale.
Partly: Magento 2 ships with the right SEO settings, but several defaults need changing before a large catalog is crawl-friendly. The canonical tag options for products and categories are often still switched off, and layered navigation creates a URL for every filter. SEO for Magento starts in the admin under Stores, Configuration, Catalog, Search Engine Optimization.
Our Magento plans start at $950 per month. Catalog Foundation covers settings, canonical and layered navigation rules, redirects, and 4 rewrites a month. Catalog Growth ($1,650) adds 10 rewrites, schema, speed work, and outreach. The Multi-Store Program ($2,400) adds 20 rewrites, hreflang, and B2B catalog checks. You get a fixed proposal after the free catalog audit.
Expect the first fixes in 4 to 6 weeks, with organic sales building over 4 to 6 months. Canonical and filter rules often show first, as Search Console's page indexing report drops crawled duplicates. Category copy and links take longer on large catalogs, because Google recrawls thousands of URLs gradually rather than all at once.
The best setup is one canonical URL per product, product URLs without category paths, and indexable filters only where search demand exists. Add a clean XML sitemap, automatic permanent redirects when URL keys change, and Product schema in your templates. Full-page cache, ideally Varnish as Adobe recommends, keeps crawling fast on large catalogs.
Yes, if you decide what happens to each URL before you disable the product. Items with steady traffic can stay live as out of stock, because the Display Out of Stock Products setting keeps the page visible. Retired items with backlinks get a 301 through URL Rewrites to the closest product or category. Disabling a product without either returns a 404.
Use an extension when you have a developer to configure it; hire a Magento SEO company when nobody owns the rules and the content. Extensions add settings such as hreflang, rich snippets, and filter controls. They don't decide which filters deserve indexing or write category copy, and we often configure an extension you already own.
Layered navigation can multiply your URLs, because each filter and filter combination creates a new address Google may crawl. A few filtered pages match real searches, such as a brand within a category, and deserve to be indexed. The rest should be noindexed or kept from crawling, so Google spends its time on products and categories.
Yes, we work on both Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source stores on version 2.4. The SEO settings are the same on both. Adobe Commerce adds B2B features such as shared catalogs. There we check that products Google should see are visible to guests, since search engines browse logged out.
Everything stays with your store: settings, URL rewrites, template changes in your repository, and copy in the admin. We hand over the keyword and category map and the full change log. Because the changes live in your theme or a small module, not in our tools, nothing reverts when our access is removed.
