About the project

Borna's General Hardware Project Overview

DeveloperLook designed and built an ecommerce website for Borna's General Hardware, an online retailer of hardware and installation services. Shoppers browse PPE, tools, smart home appliances, and audio equipment by category, then buy from detailed product pages.

Borna's General Hardware is an online retailer of hardware products and installation services. Its range covers personal protective equipment (PPE), smart home appliances, garage door openers, window blinds, and audio equipment. Hand and power tools sit alongside them. The company wanted one store where customers could buy those products and find installation help.

The homepage opens with a slider for a new line of premium PPE. Below it come a category carousel, New Arrivals offers, a Most Popular Products grid, and recent blog posts. Categories run from 3D printers and DJ equipment to garage door openers and light bulbs. Product pages show an image gallery, star ratings, ships-from and color options, and a quantity selector. An add to cart button sits below them.

Customer accounts keep shipping addresses, order history, order tracking, and a wish list. A chat box lets shoppers ask questions while they browse. The footer links the payment, shipping, returns, and privacy policies next to a newsletter sign-up. The store has desktop, tablet, and phone layouts. The brand also carries over to a logo, a storefront sign, packaging, a billboard, and social media posts.

Challenge and solution

What Borna's General Hardware Needed and How We Built It

The challenge

Borna's General Hardware needed a store that kept a wide, mixed catalog easy to search and buy from.

The range runs from PPE and power tools to smart home appliances, garage door openers, and audio equipment. Installation booking had to sit alongside the products. The site also had to earn trust in a competitive online market.

Our solution

We designed a clean layout around clear categories and a store search, so each product was easy to find.

The homepage led with offers and new arrivals, and product pages showed options, ratings, and an add to cart button. We built an Installation Service page and linked it from the main menu and the footer. Customer accounts, live chat, and published store policies gave shoppers reasons to trust the store.

What we built

Features We Built for Borna's General Hardware

  • Categories and search

A category carousel and a search box in the header guide shoppers through the range. A full category list in the footer covers everything from PPE and power tools to light bulbs.

  • Detailed product pages

Each product page shows an image gallery, star ratings, and a link to write a review. Shoppers pick ships-from and color options and a quantity, then add the item to the cart.

  • Offers and new arrivals

A homepage slider and New Arrivals banners promote new stock and discounts on smart watches and LED lighting. A Most Popular Products grid shows items such as a video doorbell, a mini projector, and wireless earbuds.

  • Customer accounts

Registered customers check out faster and save their shipping addresses. They can review order history, track new orders, and keep a wish list of items to buy later.

  • Installation service page

Installation Service has its own page, linked from the main menu and the footer between About and Contact Us. Customers can find installation help on the same site where they buy their hardware.

  • Live chat

A chat box on each page invites questions while shoppers browse. They can check a product detail with the store before they add it to the cart.

  • Product blog

The blog covers products such as the Bomge 6 wireless audio mixer, a locksmith lock gun, and the JBL Flip 5 speaker. Shoppers get more detail before they buy.
