About the project

Deus Project Overview

DeveloperLook designed and built Deus, a magazine and news website that sorts technology, business, travel, lifestyle, reviews, and world news into clear sections for every screen size.

Deus is an online magazine and news website. It gives readers a wide range of stories in one organized place, covering technology, business, travel, lifestyle, reviews, and global updates. The goal was a digital space where people can browse many topics without losing track of what is new or trending.

The home page opens with a top bar, the Deus logo, a main menu, and a Newsflash ticker of breaking headlines. A grid of featured stories follows, each with a colored category badge. Below it, Latest News has tabs for World, Lifestyle, Business, and Fashion, next to a Popular Posts sidebar, a newsletter signup, and social links. Further down sit Editor's Picks, Technology, Travel, Reviews, Investments, Videos, and Worldwide sections, then a footer with useful links.

A second home layout centers the logo and leads with More Headlines, Weekly Popular, More Politics News, Insight and Analysis, and Most Viewed blocks. Category pages such as World list posts in a grid with breadcrumbs, a sidebar, and numbered pages. Every layout was also designed for tablets and phones.

The brand pairs a black arrow mark with the Deus wordmark, carried onto business cards, office signage, a billboard, a set of line icons, and social posts. A kit of reusable parts (post cards, a video card, headline lists, and social buttons) keeps every section consistent.

Challenge and solution

What Deus Needed and How We Built It

The challenge

Deus needed to bring a wide variety of content under one platform while keeping the design clean and easy to use.

Technology, travel, lifestyle, and business stories all competed for space, so the layout had to feature top stories without overwhelming readers. Visitors also had to find the latest news, editor's picks, and popular posts quickly.

Our solution

We designed and built a magazine-style layout that sorts each category into its own clearly defined section.

Trending stories, editor's picks, and the latest updates each have a fixed place, supported by a Newsflash ticker, tabbed news lists, and a Popular Posts sidebar. The responsive design works on desktop, tablet, and mobile, and images and videos were optimized to load fast without losing quality.

What we built

Features We Built for Deus

  • Featured story grid

The home page opens with a grid of featured stories in mixed sizes. Each card carries a colored category badge, such as World, Fashion, Business, or Lifestyle, plus the author and publish date.

  • Newsflash ticker

A Newsflash bar under the header shows breaking headlines one at a time. Arrow buttons let readers step through the latest stories without leaving the page they are reading.

  • Category sections and pages

Technology, Travel, Reviews, Investments, Videos, and Worldwide each have their own block on the home page. Category pages such as World add breadcrumbs, a post grid, a sidebar, and numbered pagination.

  • Tabbed Latest News

Latest News sorts recent posts with tabs for All, World, Lifestyle, Business, and Fashion. Beside it, a Popular Posts sidebar lists popular stories with small thumbnails, titles, and publish dates.

  • Newsletter and social links

A newsletter signup sits in the sidebar and again in the footer. A Let's Hang Out on Social block links to 6 social networks with color-coded buttons.

  • Video posts

Video stories show a play button over the cover image. A Videos section on the home page and a Newest Videos block on the tablet layout give video its own place in the magazine.

  • Two home page layouts

A second home layout centers the logo and opens with a More Headlines list, a large lead story, and Weekly Popular. More Politics News, an Insight and Analysis carousel, and Most Viewed follow.

  • Deus brand identity

The black arrow mark and Deus wordmark appear on business cards, office signage, a billboard, and a set of line icons. A set of 3 social post templates carries short taglines about trusted journalism.

Questions About the Deus Project

  • An online magazine and news website with 2 home page layouts, category pages, and post cards for text and video stories. We designed and built a magazine-style structure with a Newsflash ticker, featured story grids, tabbed Latest News, and sections for Technology, Travel, Reviews, Investments, Videos, and Worldwide. The project also covered the Deus brand identity: logo, icons, business cards, signage, a billboard, and social posts.

  • Each kind of story has a fixed place. A Newsflash ticker under the header shows breaking headlines, and the featured grid puts top stories first. Latest News has tabs by category, a Popular Posts sidebar lists popular stories, and Editor's Picks has its own carousel. Readers can also jump to a category from the main menu or the Categories list in the sidebar.

  • Deus covers technology, business, travel, lifestyle, reviews, and global news. The screens also show sections for world, fashion, politics, investments, and videos. Each topic has its own home page block or category page. Every post card carries a colored category badge, so readers know a story's topic before they open it.

  • Yes. The responsive design works on desktop, tablet, and mobile, and the gallery shows the home page, category blocks, and video sections on tablets. Images and videos were prepared to load fast without losing quality. The tablet layouts keep the Latest News tabs, News by Categories, Most Popular, and Newest Videos blocks.

  • It leads with headlines instead of a featured grid. The logo sits centered above the menu, and the first screen pairs a More Headlines list, a large lead story, and a Weekly Popular column. Below come More Politics News, an Insight and Analysis carousel, and a Most Viewed list.

  • Yes. DeveloperLook designs and builds news and magazine websites with category sections, breaking news tickers, featured story grids, video posts, and newsletter signups. We start with your topics and how often you publish, then shape the home page and category pages around the stories your readers look for first.
