About the project

Cheffest Project Overview

DeveloperLook designed and built Cheffest, a food website with recipes, chefs, and menus, plus a management system where restaurant owners run orders, reservations, inventory, staff, and sales from one dashboard.

Cheffest is a digital product for the food and restaurant industry with two sides. Food lovers use a customer-facing website to browse dishes, recipes, and menus and to order online. Restaurant owners and managers use a management system for reservations, orders, inventory, staff, and sales. The goal was one connected experience for both groups, with the daily running of the restaurant kept simple behind the scenes.

The website opens with the line "Adventure of Delicacies", a featured dish, and buttons to explore recipes or get the mobile app. Short sections follow on what Cheffest stands for, cooking with master chefs, popular recipes, and a Culinary Journal of food articles. A "What to Cook?" page filters dishes by type, from appetizers and main courses to healthy eats and quick suppers. Each recipe page lists the cuisine, servings, prep and cook time, and difficulty, with a downloadable recipe PDF and the chef who wrote it. A team page introduces the chefs.

The management dashboard greets the admin with total orders, customers, and revenue, an income and expense chart, top categories, order types (dine-in, takeaway, and online), and trending dishes. The sidebar leads to orders, messages, a calendar, the menu, inventory, and reviews. The design runs to more than 32 pages, with mobile layouts for the dashboard, the menu, and the order screens.

Challenge and solution

What Cheffest Needed and How We Built It

The challenge

Cheffest needed one platform that pleased diners and gave restaurant owners real control.

Customers expected appealing menus, easy navigation, and a simple way to order. Managers needed to oversee everything from reservations to kitchen workflows, and the platform had to serve both sides without making either harder to use.

Our solution

We built an image-led food website and a management system that runs the restaurant from one dashboard.

Diners get clear menu navigation, rich food photography, and secure online ordering. Managers get modules for reservations, order tracking, staff, and sales analytics, with real-time notifications, inventory tracking, and reports for daily operations.

What we built

Features We Built for Cheffest

  • Recipes sorted by type

The What to Cook page sorts dishes into types such as appetizers, main courses, vegetarian, international, desserts, and quick suppers, so visitors find a recipe without scrolling through everything.

  • Detailed recipe pages

Each recipe page shows the cuisine, servings, prep time, cook time, and difficulty level, with tags, the chef who wrote it, and a button to download the recipe as a PDF.

  • Chefs and food journal

A cook with master chefs section, a chefs and team page, and a Culinary Journal of food articles give the site a community feel beyond a plain list of dishes.

  • Restaurant dashboard

The dashboard home shows total orders, customers, and revenue, an income and expense chart, top categories, orders split into dine-in, takeaway, and online, and the trending dishes of the week.

  • Order management

An orders list tracks every order by status, and the order details screen lists each item, the customer, the total, and a map for following the delivery.

  • Customer messages

A messages inbox keeps conversations with customers inside the dashboard, so staff answer questions about orders and bookings without switching to another tool.

  • Menu control

The menu section groups featured, promo, and recommended dishes. Each dish page lists its price, description, ingredients, customer reviews, and similar dishes, so staff keep the menu accurate.

  • Inventory tracking

The inventory screen counts products in stock, low on stock, and out of stock, with search and a purchase order button, so managers restock before a dish runs out.

FAQ

Questions About the Cheffest Project

  • A customer-facing food website and a restaurant management system. The website presents recipes, menus, chefs, and food articles, and supports online ordering. The management system gives owners one dashboard for orders, reservations, messages, the menu, inventory, staff, reviews, and sales. Both share the orange and navy Cheffest brand, and the design runs to more than 32 pages.

  • They pick a type on the What to Cook page, such as appetizers, salads and sides, vegetarian dishes, or quick suppers, and open a recipe card. The recipe page shows the cuisine, servings, prep and cook time, and difficulty, plus the chef behind it and a recipe PDF to download.

  • They follow orders, customers, and revenue on the home screen, open each order's details and delivery map, reply to customer messages, check bookings on a calendar, edit the menu, track stock levels, and read reviews. Charts split orders into dine-in, takeaway, and online, and show which categories and dishes sell best.

  • Yes. The website is responsive, and the gallery shows it on phones and tablets. The dashboard also has mobile layouts for the order overview, revenue chart, menu, order details, customer list, and inventory, so a manager can check on the restaurant away from the counter.

  • The project included the Cheffest identity: a round orange logo with a fork and knife, an orange and navy color palette, a set of food icons, a shop sign, and a billboard with the line "Your Cravings, Our Creation". Social media post designs for dishes such as a burger and fish and chips use the same style.

  • Yes. DeveloperLook designs and builds restaurant and food websites with menus, dishes or recipes, and online ordering, plus a management dashboard for orders, reservations, inventory, and sales. We start with how your guests choose and order food, then shape the dashboard around how your kitchen and front of house work.
