About the project

El Marena Travel Adventures Project Overview

DeveloperLook designed and built the El Marena Travel Adventures landing page, the travel side of El Marena Eco Resort in Bangladesh. Beach and island trips across six countries appear as travel posters, and every Book button opens a WhatsApp chat with the trip already named.

El Marena Travel Adventures is the travel side of El Marena Eco Resort on Saint Martin's Island, Bangladesh's only coral island. The team plans beach and island trips to Thailand, Malaysia, the Maldives, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Dubai, from water villa escapes to island hops and city beach breaks. DeveloperLook designed and built the landing page that introduces the brand and takes bookings.

The page reads like a stack of vintage travel posters. The hero places a jet ski in front of the headline, featured trips appear as numbered posters with their length and starting price, and a Saint Martin's weekender is styled as an admission ticket. A short Maldives drone film plays in place, and an illustrated route map links the six countries back to the home island.

Further down, polaroid cards match trips to honeymooners, families, friends, divers, solo travellers and adventure seekers. Real El Marena Eco Resort reviews from Facebook and Google appear as postcards, travel guides sit in a newspaper-style Island Gazette, and the FAQ answers booking and visa questions.

Booking happens on WhatsApp: every trip button opens a chat with the trip already typed in. The site is built with Next.js and exported as a static site for Cloudflare Pages, with photography sized for sharp 2K screens and its own layouts for desktop, tablet and phone.

Challenge and solution

What El Marena Travel Adventures Needed and How We Built It

The challenge

El Marena needed one page that could sell six very different destinations at a glance.

As a new travel brand it had no booking history of its own, so it had to borrow trust from the resort and its real guests. The team takes bookings on WhatsApp, which meant the page had to start a conversation instead of sending people through a long form. The imagery also had to feel like a premium holiday from the first screen.

Our solution

We built a poster-style landing page where every trip is a collectible travel poster with its length and starting price.

Each Book button opens WhatsApp with a message naming the trip, so the team knows what the traveller wants from the first line. Real resort reviews as postcards, a 42-second Maldives film and a route map from the home island build trust, while cut-out headlines and scroll motion give the brand its character. The site runs on Next.js as a fast static export, with photography sized for 2K screens.

What we built

Features We Built for El Marena Travel Adventures

  • Travel poster trip cards

Featured trips appear as numbered travel posters with the destination, route, trip length and starting price. A Saint Martin's weekender is styled as an admission ticket with its own Book button.

  • WhatsApp booking links

Every Book button opens WhatsApp with a message naming the trip, such as the Langkawi Island Hop. Travellers start a real conversation with the team instead of filling in a form.

  • Illustrated route map

A vintage-style map traces flights and island hops from Saint Martin's to Dubai, the Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia and Bali. Six destination tags beside it sum up each country in one line.

  • In-page Maldives film

A 42-second drone film of water villas, house reefs and sandbanks plays inside the page from a ticket-style card. The video only loads when someone presses play, so the page stays light.

  • Guest review postcards

Real El Marena Eco Resort reviews from Facebook and Google appear as stamped postcards beside a large pull quote. Each one shows the guest's first name, the source and the date.

  • Island Gazette guides

Travel guides sit in a newspaper-style Island Gazette with a cover story, side columns and a stop press box. The Saint Martin's guide links to the full article on the resort site.

  • Phone-first layouts

Every section has its own phone layout: the trip posters become a swipe row, the map pans sideways and the menu folds behind one button. Cut-out headlines and motion adapt to each screen.

  • Premium photography

Water villas, pool villas, jet skis and cliff-top stays were picked for each slot and sized for sharp 2K screens. Two sections use cut-outs so the headlines sit behind a jet ski and a limestone peak.

FAQ

Questions About the El Marena Travel Adventures Project

  • DeveloperLook designed and built the El Marena Travel Adventures landing page, the travel side of El Marena Eco Resort in Bangladesh. The page presents beach and island trips across six countries as travel posters, adds a route map, a Maldives film, guest reviews and travel guides, and sends every booking to WhatsApp.

  • They press Book on a trip and WhatsApp opens with a message that names the trip, ready to send. The El Marena team replies with a day-by-day plan and one clear price, then confirms the stays, transfers and day trips. General buttons such as Book on WhatsApp open the same chat with a short greeting.

  • The site covers six countries: Thailand, Malaysia, the Maldives, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Dubai. Featured trips include a Maldives water villa escape, Phuket and Phang Nga Bay, Bali and Nusa Penida, a Saint Martin's Island weekender, a Langkawi island hop and a Dubai beach and marina break. The route map also marks Penang, Koh Samui, Lombok, Kuakata and Inani Beach.

  • Yes. Every section has a phone layout, not just a shrunken desktop page. On a phone the trip posters sit in a swipe row, the route map pans sideways, the menu folds behind a single button and the booking buttons span the full width. The gallery shows eight of these phone screens.

  • The site is built with Next.js, React and TypeScript and exported as a static site, so it can be hosted on Cloudflare Pages without a server. Photos are pre-sized for each slot, and the Maldives film only loads when someone presses play, which keeps the first load light on phones.

  • Yes. We'd start from your trips, destinations and how you take bookings, whether that's WhatsApp, a booking form or a full checkout. Then we'd design the trip cards, destination sections and trust sections around them and build the site on a fast, modern stack. Contact us with your current setup and we'll suggest where to begin.
