About the project

UrbanNest Project Overview

DeveloperLook designed and built UrbanNest, a furniture shopping app that suggests sofas, lighting, and storage pieces from each shopper's activity. A team dashboard tracks how every product category sells.

UrbanNest is a mobile app for buying furniture online. It centers on living essentials such as sofas, lighting, storage, and kitchen furniture. Its shoppers want comfort, good looks, and a fair price. The app pairs simple navigation with smart filters and product picks shaped by what each person does in the app.

The home screen greets the shopper by name, with search, quick category chips, a seasonal sale banner, and featured products. Shoppers can also browse by room, from the living room and bedroom to kitchen and dining or a home office. Best sellers are grouped by brand, and live shopping streams show furniture in styled rooms with the featured items listed below.

Product pages put the material, size, colors, stock level, and a review breakdown under the photos. The cart groups items by store, applies coupons, and adds tax before checkout, where shoppers pick a saved address and a shipping speed. A My Cards screen keeps payment cards next to past transactions. A separate UrbanNest dashboard lets the team manage categories, clients, orders, support tickets, and payments across more than 33 pages.

Challenge and solution

What UrbanNest Needed and How We Built It

The challenge

UrbanNest wanted furniture shopping to feel simple without hiding the details buyers rely on.

Shoppers had to find the right sofa or lamp quickly. Materials, sizes, and reviews needed to stay close at hand but out of the way until needed. The app also needed a recommendation system that suggested pieces each person would actually want.

Our solution

We built a clean, minimal interface that keeps browsing light and opens full product details on demand.

Room categories, quick filter chips, and search help shoppers narrow the catalog in a few taps. A recommendation engine reads each shopper's activity in the app to fill the Just For You section with relevant pieces.

What we built

Features We Built for UrbanNest

  • Shop by room

A categories screen sorts the catalog by room: living room, bedroom, kitchen and dining, and home office. Each room has a photo and a short note on the pieces it includes.

  • Just For You picks

Recommendations drawn from each shopper's activity fill a Just For You list. Every card shows the photo, name, price, star rating, and any discount, so a good match stands out.

  • Live shopping streams

Brands stream furniture in styled rooms with a live badge and a viewer count. The pieces on screen appear underneath with their prices and a cart button for each one.

  • Detailed product pages

Each product page lists the brand, material, dimensions, colors, and stock. Reviews are split into good, neutral, and bad, just above the Add to Cart and Buy Now buttons.

  • Coupon wallet

An Apply Coupon screen separates coupons a shopper can claim from the ones ready to use. Each coupon shows its percentage off and the maximum discount it gives.

  • Cart grouped by store

The cart groups pieces by the store that sells them, with quantity controls and an option to change each item. Subtotal, tax, and total sit just above the checkout button.

  • Addresses and shipping speed

Shoppers save addresses such as home, office, or a parent's house and edit them on a map. They then choose economy, regular, or cargo delivery with an estimated arrival date.

  • Category sales dashboard

The UrbanNest dashboard counts categories and subcategories, ranks top categories by sales, and charts sales trends. Other pages cover clients, orders, support tickets, transactions, and integrations.

FAQ

Questions About the UrbanNest Project

  • A mobile app for buying furniture and a dashboard for the team that runs it. The app covers room categories, recommendations, live shopping, product pages, coupons, a store-grouped cart, and checkout with saved addresses and cards. The dashboard handles categories, clients, orders, support tickets, and payments across more than 33 pages.

  • Through a recommendation engine that learns from how each shopper uses the app. The products a person views and interacts with shape the Just For You section, so suggestions follow individual taste rather than one fixed list. Best sellers by brand and a Hot Stuff list sit beside these picks.

  • Sofas, armchairs, beds, tables, lighting, storage, and kitchen furniture. Shoppers browse by room, such as the living room or a home office, or tap a quick chip for lighting, sofas, kitchen, or storage. Search sits at the top of the main screens for anyone who already knows what they want.

  • In a few short steps. The cart groups items by store and shows the subtotal, tax, and total. Shoppers then confirm a saved shipping address, pick economy, regular, or cargo delivery, and continue to payment with a saved card. Order confirmation lists every product before payment.

  • It shows how each product category performs on sales, growth, and visibility. The main view counts categories and subcategories, ranks top categories by sales, and charts sales trends over time. Other pages handle products, promotions, clients, order details, support tickets, transactions, payment cards, and integrations.

  • Yes. We design and build furniture and home decor apps with room browsing, personal recommendations, detailed product pages, coupons, and checkout with saved addresses. A dashboard for your catalog and orders can come with it. We begin with how your buyers choose large pieces, then plan the screens around that.
