How your project runs
Teams we have built for:

The Problem
Drupal sites rarely fail all at once. Trouble builds up when security advisories go unread, Composer updates pile up, and the only person who knew the deployment steps has moved on.
01 · Advisories
Security advisories arrive and nobody checks them.
We check each advisory against your modules in the week it's published.
02 · Update gap
Months of skipped updates turn one patch into dozens.
Monthly Composer updates on staging keep the gap small.
03 · Untested backups
Backups exist, but nobody has ever restored one.
We restore one backup to a test environment every month.
04 · Lost knowledge
The deployment steps left with the last developer.
Every routine is written into a runbook in your repository.
A security advisory lands on a Wednesday, and nobody on your team knows whether it affects your site. Composer hasn't run in months, so one update now pulls in dozens of others. The last developer left a staging site that no longer matches production. Backups exist, but nobody has tried restoring one. Then an editor finds a broken View the morning a campaign goes live. Every month you wait, the update gap grows and the next fix costs more.
We start with a free audit of your Drupal version, modules, hosting, and deployment steps. Then every month follows the same routine: advisories checked against your modules, updates applied through Composer on staging, configuration compared across environments, and a backup restored to prove it works. Your editors test on staging before anything reaches production. Updates become a calm monthly release, not a scramble after every advisory.
Advisories read every week
Each Drupal security advisory is checked against your core version and your installed modules.
Backups proven by restoring
Daily off-site backups, with one restored to a test environment every month.
Config kept in step
Configuration compared across local, staging, and live, so changes don't quietly vanish.
Our Drupal Support and Maintenance Process
You see the audit findings, approve the update schedule, test each release on staging, and get a short written report every month.
We review your Drupal version, contributed and custom modules, PHP version, hosting, and backups. You get a risk list, the updates you're behind on, and a fixed monthly quote for your site.
What's Included
Every plan covers your security advisories, tested updates, restorable backups, monitoring, developer time, and a monthly report, sized to your Drupal version.
Compare Options
A managed host covers servers well, and a freelancer can be cheaper for one-off fixes. Here's how each handles Drupal maintenance services month after month, including where they win.
| Feature | DeveloperLookBest fit | Managed host | Freelancer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Security advisories | Checked against your modules | Core patches on some hosts | When they have time |
| Module updates | Composer updates tested on staging | Usually left to you | Done on request |
| Backups | Daily, restore tested monthly | Daily server snapshots | Depends on the person |
| Server uptime | Monitoring and alerts | Strongest here, with an SLA | Rarely included |
| Code fixes | Developer hours each month | Not included | Hourly, often fast |
| Drupal 7 sites | Holding care and move plan | Often unsupported | Varies by skill |
| Documentation | Runbook in your repository | Platform docs only | Rarely written down |
| Cost | From $400 per month | Part of the hosting fee | Lower hourly rate |
Projects We've Built
News, education, finance, and advisory websites our team designed and built: the kind of content-heavy sites that need steady care after launch.
What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built content-heavy websites for.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything we’ve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
What I appreciate most is that the website is actually easy for us to manage now. We can update content ourselves instead of sending a developer a message every time we need to change something small. They also paid attention to the technical SEO side, which mattered to us because we didn’t want a new website to create problems for the traffic we already had. I’ve probably asked more questions than I should have since launch, but every question has been handled patiently and without any fuss. The team is easy to work with, they explain things clearly, and when we need something changed, they focus on getting it done rather than making the process complicated.

Work Culture
A Drupal site that runs for years needs the same habits every month. These are ours, and they're why your updates stop feeling like a gamble.
Contributed module advisories can land any Wednesday, and core usually has one window a month. We plan update days around both, so urgent patches don't wait for the next cycle.
Every update runs on a staging copy first, with database updates and configuration imports checked. Your editors see the result before your visitors do.
If a module is abandoned or your site needs a rebuild instead of more patches, we'll say so plainly. You'll read it in the monthly report, not after an outage.
Before each release we take a fresh backup and record your previous code version. If something breaks, we roll back first and investigate second.
Deployment steps, Drush commands, and module decisions go into a runbook in your repository. Whoever works on the site next starts with the full picture.
Code, configuration, and backups stay in your repository and hosting accounts. You can change providers later without asking us for anything.

Good fit
Nonprofits with one part-time web editor
Your nonprofit runs on Drupal, the agency that built the site is gone, and nobody has applied a security update in months.
Organizations still running Drupal 7
Your Drupal 7 site lost community security support in January 2025, and you need it kept safe while a move is planned.
IT teams short on Drupal skills
Your IT team runs servers well but can't keep up with Composer updates, module advisories, and configuration changes across environments.
Marketing teams with many editors
Your editors publish every day, and each update risks breaking a View, a form, or a workflow they need for the next campaign.
Agencies with Drupal clients
Your agency built Drupal sites for clients and wants a Drupal support agency behind you for monthly care under your brand.
Not a fit
New Drupal build needed
You need a new Drupal site, a redesign, or a large feature rather than monthly care. Our Drupal Development Services page covers fixed-scope builds.
Site runs on WordPress
Your site runs on WordPress, not Drupal. Our WordPress Maintenance Services page covers the same kind of monthly care for WordPress.
Contractual response times
You need contractual response times and on-call staff around the clock. A managed hosting provider with an SLA desk fits that better.
Budget under $400 a month
Your budget is under $400 a month and the site rarely changes. If your host's managed updates already cover your case, we'll tell you before we quote.

Drupal care plans from DeveloperLook start at $400 per month for advisory checks, tested updates, restore-tested backups, and 2 developer hours. Drupal Care Plus is $750 per month with 5 hours and minor upgrades. Managed Drupal is $1,150 per month with 10 hours and upgrade planning. You get a fixed monthly price after the free audit.
Most Drupal support services start within 1 to 2 weeks of the free audit, which itself takes 3 to 5 days. Onboarding covers Git access, a staging copy, off-site backups, and monitoring. Any overdue security updates are handled first, so the riskiest gaps close before your first monthly cycle.
No, not by the Drupal community: security support for Drupal 7 ended on January 5, 2025. Drupal.org no longer publishes core or module fixes for it. The Drupal Association lists certified vendors that sell extended security support, and we can keep your Drupal 7 site monitored and backed up alongside that subscription.
Drupal 7 support already ended on January 5, 2025, after its end-of-life date had been pushed back several times. Since then, no community security advisories or core releases cover Drupal 7. Sites that still run it rely on paid extended support or move to Drupal 11 or another CMS.
Drupal 7 stays supported only while you pay a certified extended support vendor, and drupal.org publishes no end date for that program. Each vendor sets its own terms. Our Drupal 7 support adds monitoring, backups, and hardening during that time, but we treat it as a bridge with a migration roadmap.
You manage a Drupal website by updating core and modules, reviewing security advisories, testing your backups, and controlling who can edit what. Day to day, editors work in the admin with roles and Content Moderation. Behind that, Composer, Drush, and configuration exports in Git keep every change repeatable across environments.
Nonprofits can use free community help on the Drupal.org forums and Drupal Slack, a managed host's updates, or a paid monthly plan. Community help suits questions, not emergencies at launch time. Our Drupal Care plan at $400 per month is sized for smaller nonprofit sites, and the free audit shows whether a lighter option is enough.
A Drupal security advisory that affects your site gets patched on staging first, then released once key pages pass checks. Highly critical advisories jump ahead of the normal monthly cycle. Contributed module advisories can arrive any Wednesday, and core usually uses the third Wednesday of the month, so we plan around both.
Planning is included on Managed Drupal, and the upgrade itself is quoted as a separate fixed-price project. Drupal 10 reaches end of life on December 9, 2026, the same week Drupal 12 is due. We check your modules for Drupal 11 releases every month, so the upgrade quote is accurate when you're ready.
You keep everything: code, configuration, backups, and the runbook stay in your repository and hosting accounts. Nothing about your site sits behind our own servers or logins. When a plan ends, we hand over access notes, so your next team or host can continue the same update routine.
