The Problem
Most owners start with one question: is Klarna for my business? The harder part comes next, because Klarna's setup changes with your country, currency, and platform.
01 · Silent pages
Klarna is live, but your product pages don't mention it.
Klarna's price messages appear on product and cart pages.
02 · Currency gaps
Canadian shoppers paying in their own dollars don't see Klarna.
Currencies get checked, so each market sees Klarna where it can pay.
03 · Expiring holds
Pre-orders ship after Klarna authorizations expire.
Captures get timed against Klarna's 28-day default authorization window.
04 · Route
A shopper reaches checkout already put off by the price.
Shopify Payments, Klarna's app, or its WooCommerce plugin gets picked by country.
A shopper in Amsterdam adds a €240 coat to the cart. Klarna is live, but the product page says nothing about it, so they reach checkout already put off by the price. Your US store runs the Klarna app, yet Canadian shoppers paying in their own dollars don't see Klarna at all, because the app only works in your base currency. Meanwhile your pre-orders wait five weeks to ship, and Klarna authorizations expire after 28 days by default.
We start by picking your Klarna route: Shopify Payments in Europe, Klarna's app with a merchant ID elsewhere, or Klarna's plugin on WooCommerce. Then we add Klarna's price messages to product and cart pages, check currencies and captures, and test refunds end to end. Shoppers see the smaller payment before the full price puts them off.
The right Klarna route
Shopify Payments, Klarna's own app, or its WooCommerce plugin, chosen by your country and currency.
Klarna prices on product pages
On-site messaging shows the installment price where shoppers decide, not only at the final step.
Captures before authorizations expire
Pre-orders and manual captures get timed against Klarna's authorization window, 28 days by default.
Our Klarna Integration Process
You see which route fits, where Klarna appears on your pages, and every test result before a shopper meets it.
We check your store's country, currencies, platform, and capture settings, then name the Klarna route that fits. If Klarna is already on in your payment settings, we'll show you instead of quoting.
What's Included
Every setup covers the route choice, account connection, product page messaging, currency and capture settings, refund tests, and notes your team can follow.
Compare Options
Klarna's self-serve setup costs nothing and suits simple stores, and a generalist developer can install the app. The gaps show in currencies, captures, and messaging.

Projects We've Built
A selection of ecommerce stores we've built. Klarna setups go faster when we already know a store's theme, checkout, and markets.
What Our Clients Say
Feedback from ecommerce teams we have built checkouts, payments, and integrations for.
We were getting plenty of traffic, but far too many people were leaving at checkout. The buying process had simply become too complicated. The team took the time to understand where customers were dropping off, then rebuilt the checkout flow and cleaned up the shopping experience. What I really appreciated was that they didn’t just make the store look better, they actually solved the problems that were costing us sales. The whole store feels faster, simpler, and much easier to buy from now. Exactly what we needed.
We had a different kind of problem. People were visiting the store, adding products to their carts, and then disappearing before they finished the order. We had tried a few apps and made changes here and there, but nothing really seemed to solve the bigger issue. The team went through the shopping experience with us and pointed out things we hadn't really noticed ourselves. They cleaned up the cart and checkout flow, made the mobile experience much smoother, and helped us make the store feel easier to shop. I’m not going to pretend we fixed everything overnight, but it finally feels like the store is helping the sale instead of getting in the way of it.
Our old store was making it way too difficult for people to find products. We had a large catalogue, but the search, filters, and mobile navigation were frustrating customers. The team completely changed how the store handled product discovery and made the experience much easier to use on mobile. I was especially impressed by how much thought went into the customer journey rather than just the visual design. They understood what we were trying to achieve and turned it into a store that actually feels built for our customers. We’re genuinely proud of the result.

Work Culture
Klarna sits at the moment a shopper decides whether the price is worth it. These are the habits we bring to every Klarna setup, in any market.
Klarna runs through Shopify Payments in Europe and through its own app elsewhere. We confirm which one your store needs before touching any settings.
The Klarna app only takes your store's base currency, and billing countries must match. We test each currency you sell in, so no shopper meets a missing option.
Klarna authorizations expire after 28 days by default. We set capture timing around how you ship, so pre-orders don't lose their payment.
Klarna's default widget rarely matches a store's fonts and spacing. We style on-site messaging so it reads like part of your product page.
If Klarna is already switched on in your payment settings, we'll show you where. You won't pay us to flip a switch.
Your merchant ID, payouts, and Klarna account stay in your business's name. We hand back every login when the project ends.

Good fit
Shopify stores selling in Europe
Your store sells in Germany, the Netherlands, or Sweden, where shoppers look for Klarna, and you want it running through Shopify Payments.
US and Canadian Shopify stores
You sell outside Europe, so Klarna comes through its own Shopify app and a merchant ID, and you want approval and setup handled.
WooCommerce stores on the Checkout block
Your WooCommerce checkout runs the Checkout block, and you want Klarna's plugin set up with messaging and express checkout.
Stores already live with Klarna
You switched Klarna on months ago, but product pages say nothing about it, so shoppers only find it at the last step.
Agencies with Klarna requests
Your client wants Klarna in two markets, and you need currency rules, messaging, and refund tests done under your brand.
Not a fit
Comparing providers first
You haven't chosen a provider yet and want Klarna compared with Afterpay, Affirm, and Sezzle. Our Buy Now Pay Later Integration service starts with that comparison.
Already on in Europe
Your store is in Europe and only needs Klarna turned on. It's often on by default for eligible accounts, so check your payment settings before paying us $450.
Several currencies
You sell in several currencies through the Klarna app, which only takes your base currency. Our Multi-Currency Checkout Setup service should come first.
Stripe site already
Your site already runs on Stripe and you just want Klarna there. Stripe can add it as a payment method, so our Payment Gateway Integration service may cover it.

We connect, style, and test Klarna, then hand over notes under your brand.
Your client only sees your agency, from kickoff to handover.

Klarna for business pricing is a percentage of each order plus a small fixed charge, and your Klarna agreement sets the exact rate. In the US, Stripe's Klarna guide puts it between 3.29% and 5.99%, plus a 30-cent fee per order. On Shopify Payments, that fee isn't returned when you refund. Our setup starts at $450.
For a Klarna integration, Shopify stores in Europe need 3 to 5 business days, since Klarna often comes switched on for eligible accounts. The Klarna app route takes 1 to 2 weeks, mostly waiting on approval. A custom build through Klarna's API takes 3 to 4 weeks.
Klarna lets shoppers split a purchase or pay later, depending on their country. US shoppers typically see Pay in 4, with four payments over six weeks. Stores in Europe using Shopify's built-in Klarna offer Pay in 3, Pay in 30 days, and pay in full. Longer financing plans can carry interest.
With Klarna for business, Klarna pays you the order amount, less its fee, and then collects each installment from the shopper. It also takes on the risk of a missed payment. You capture each order when you ship, and uncaptured authorizations expire after 28 days by default.
Klarna makes most of its money from merchant fees on each order. It also earns interest on longer financing plans, and Shopify's help center notes that late fees might apply to overdue Pay in 30 days bills. Longer plans cost merchants more, because Klarna carries more risk.
Klarna's Pay in 4 and Pay in 30 days plans are interest-free when paid on time. Its financing plans can charge interest: Shopify's Klarna guide lists terms of 3 to 24 months at 0% to 35.99% APR. As the merchant, you don't pay that interest, and your payout stays the same.
In Europe, Klarna comes through Shopify Payments, and it's switched on by default for eligible new accounts in 26 countries. Elsewhere, you add Klarna's own payment app and connect your merchant ID. The app only works in your store's base currency, which matters if you sell in several.
For a Klarna integration, WooCommerce stores use Klarna's own plugin, which works in the US and 22 other markets. It includes on-site messaging and express checkout and supports the Checkout block. It needs WordPress 6.7 or later and PHP 8.0, so we check your hosting first.
It can, mostly on products where price is the sticking point, because shoppers see a smaller payment first. We won't promise a figure, since results depend on your prices and customers. Larger plans tag Klarna orders in GA4, so you compare them with card orders in your own data.
Yes, Klarna is a licensed bank supervised by Sweden's financial regulator. Its parent company has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2025. Your store connects through an official route (Klarna's app, its plugin, or Shopify's checkout), so credit checks and payment details stay with Klarna.
