The Problem
Currency problems rarely show up in your own tests. They show up when a shopper abroad compares the price they saw with their card statement.
01 · Switching totals
Prices show in Canadian dollars, then checkout charges US dollars.
Your payment provider gets checked first, since only some charge local currencies.
02 · Card fees
The shopper's card adds a conversion fee on top.
Each market gets its own currency, rates, and rounding.
03 · Short refunds
Refunds come back short after the rate moves.
Every currency gets a real purchase and refund before launch.
04 · Fixed thresholds
Your free shipping banner promises one dollar threshold to everyone.
Prices your theme hard-codes get fixed for every market.
A shopper in Toronto browses your store in Canadian dollars, thanks to a currency app. At checkout, the total switches back to US dollars, because your gateway only charges in your store currency. Their card adds its own conversion fee, so the statement shows a third number. Some shoppers leave right there. Others buy, then ask why their refund came back short. Your free shipping banner still promises a dollar threshold to everyone.
We start with your payment setup, because on Shopify only Shopify Payments or Adyen can charge shoppers in their own currency. Then we set each market's currency, rates, and rounding, and fix prices your theme hard-codes. Every currency gets a real purchase and refund before launch, so shoppers pay the number they saw, not a surprise.
Payment provider checked first
You only get local checkout with Shopify's own payments or Adyen, so we confirm yours first.
Rates and rounding per market
Automatic or fixed rates for your markets, plus rounding that turns converted prices into clean amounts.
A refund tested per currency
Each currency gets a live order and a refund, so rate gaps show up before your launch.
Our Currency Setup Process
You see what your payments setup allows, the rates and rounding we propose, and a tested order in each currency before launch.
We check your payment provider, plan, markets, and price-showing apps. You get the currencies worth adding, the risks, and a fixed price. If Shopify's defaults already cover your markets, we'll tell you before we quote.
What's Included
Every setup covers the payment check, currencies per market, rates and rounding, theme and app fixes, refund tests, and a handover.
Compare Options
A converter app installs in minutes, and Shopify's settings are free. The differences show up at checkout, in refunds, and in the prices your theme prints.

Projects We've Built

What Our Clients Say
Feedback from ecommerce teams we have built checkouts, payments, and integrations for.
We were getting plenty of traffic, but far too many people were leaving at checkout. The buying process had simply become too complicated. The team took the time to understand where customers were dropping off, then rebuilt the checkout flow and cleaned up the shopping experience. What I really appreciated was that they didn’t just make the store look better, they actually solved the problems that were costing us sales. The whole store feels faster, simpler, and much easier to buy from now. Exactly what we needed.
We had a different kind of problem. People were visiting the store, adding products to their carts, and then disappearing before they finished the order. We had tried a few apps and made changes here and there, but nothing really seemed to solve the bigger issue. The team went through the shopping experience with us and pointed out things we hadn't really noticed ourselves. They cleaned up the cart and checkout flow, made the mobile experience much smoother, and helped us make the store feel easier to shop. I’m not going to pretend we fixed everything overnight, but it finally feels like the store is helping the sale instead of getting in the way of it.
Our old store was making it way too difficult for people to find products. We had a large catalogue, but the search, filters, and mobile navigation were frustrating customers. The team completely changed how the store handled product discovery and made the experience much easier to use on mobile. I was especially impressed by how much thought went into the customer journey rather than just the visual design. They understood what we were trying to achieve and turned it into a store that actually feels built for our customers. We’re genuinely proud of the result.

Work Culture
Your multi-currency Shopify store earns trust only when the amount charged matches the price your shopper saw. These are our habits on every setup.
On Shopify, only its own payments or Adyen can charge local currencies. We confirm your provider first, so nobody sees a local price, then pays in dollars.
Automatic rates change prices through the day, while manual rates hold them steady and take Shopify's fee from your payout. We weigh both with you first.
Shopify refunds at the exchange rate on the day you refund, not the order date. We refund a real purchase in each currency, so you know the gap.
BigCommerce keeps a cart in the currency it started in until the shopper empties it. We test currency switches mid-cart on every platform we set up.
If just a few of your orders ship abroad, Shopify's default conversion may do. We'll say so instead of selling you rounding rules you don't need.
Your Shopify admin, Markets settings, and payment accounts remain in your name. The staff access we use comes off the day the work ends.

Good fit
Shopify stores with visitors abroad
Your analytics show buyers from Canada, the UK, or Australia, but you still charge everyone in US dollars at checkout.
Stores on a third-party gateway
You use a gateway other than Shopify Payments, so shoppers see converted prices but still pay in your store currency.
Stores running a currency converter app
Your currency app shows local prices, but checkout reverts to your store currency, and shoppers ask why totals differ.
WooCommerce and BigCommerce stores
You sell on WooCommerce or BigCommerce, and cached pages or the cart show the wrong currency after a shopper switches.
Agencies with global clients
Your client wants local prices in three markets, and you need the rates, rounding, and refund checks handled under your brand.
Not a fit
Full new-country launch
You're launching a new country with duties, translations, and shipping rules. Our Shopify International Expansion Setup service handles the whole market.
Pay-later instead
You want Klarna or another pay-later option, not new currencies. Our Klarna Integration or Buy Now Pay Later Integration service fits better.
US sales tax
You need US sales tax collected state by state. Our Sales Tax & Nexus Setup service covers that side of checkout.
Few orders from abroad
Only a few orders come from abroad, and your store currency works for them. Shopify's defaults may be enough, and our $350 setup can wait.

You own the client relationship. We supply the currency work: the payment check, rates, rounding, theme fixes, and refund tests in each currency. Everything ships under your agency's own brand.
White label: your client only ever sees your brand
Share store access, target markets, and the client's gateway and apps.
You get the provider check, a fixed price, and a launch date before work starts.
We set up and test each currency, then hand over notes under your brand.
We work under your agency's name, from the first check to handover.
A fixed price per store and a launch date agreed up front.
Rates, rounding, and refund tests handled without hand-holding.
Bring one client store or several markets at a time.
The Right Technology for Your Project
We use Shopify Markets and your gateway's settings first, and write code only where your theme or an app prints the wrong currency.

Our setup starts at $350 for up to 3 currencies on one Shopify store. Market pricing with theme fixes and up to 8 currencies costs $800. WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or second-store setups start at $1,500. Shopify's conversion fee is separate, and you pay it per order, not to us.
Adding up to 3 currencies is 2 to 4 business days of work, including a purchase and refund in each. Market pricing and theme fixes take 1 to 2 weeks, depending on how many apps show prices. WooCommerce and BigCommerce setups take 2 to 3 weeks, since caching and checkout need their own tests.
You enable it in Markets: open a market, set its currency, and choose automatic or manual exchange rates. Shopify Payments or Adyen must process your payments, or shoppers only see converted prices and still pay in your store currency. Then check that your theme shows a country or currency selector.
Checkout follows the market's currency once your gateway supports local currencies, so the work sits around it. We set rounding and test Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal in each currency. We also check fixed-amount discounts, because Shopify converts them at checkout at the current rate.
Look for someone who asks about your payment provider and apps before quoting, because those decide what's possible. We start with a free currency check and then send a fixed quote. Full localization, with translations, duties, and domains, sits with our Shopify International Expansion Setup service.
Yes, it needs Shopify Payments or Adyen. Shopify's help center says only those two can charge shoppers in local currencies. With any other gateway, shoppers see converted prices but pay in your store currency, and their bank may add its own conversion fee on top.
Yes, Shopify sells in many currencies through Markets, with local prices from the product page to checkout. It works fully only with Shopify's own payments or Adyen. On Advanced and Plus plans in eligible countries, Shopify Payments can also pay out in other currencies to matching bank accounts.
With WooPayments, you enable it in the payment settings, pick currencies, and choose automatic or manual rates, plus rounding and charm pricing. Shoppers switch with a block, a widget, or geolocation. On cached sites, the Optimized for caching mode converts prices in the browser, so pages don't show the wrong currency.
Your shopper gets the refund in the currency they paid, converted at the exchange rate on the day you refund, not the order date. No conversion fee applies to the refund. The original conversion and card fees aren't returned, though, so a refund can cost you slightly more or less.
Yes, Shopify Payments charges a conversion fee when a shopper pays in a currency other than your payout currency. It's 1.5% for US stores and 2% in the UK, EEA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Automatic rates build the fee into prices, and manual rates take it from your payout.
