The Problem
It shows up when a practice adds a website booking flow, opens a second location, or a software team builds NexHealth integrations. A booking can look finished online before the practice system has it.
Overnight sync
Bookings sit unsynced while the office server is off.
Overnight sync
We check sync status daily and alert staff when a location goes offline.
Wrong type
Online bookings land under the wrong appointment type.
Wrong type
Mapping rules are reordered so specific rules match before general ones.
Failed writes
A failed write from your app disappears without a trace.
Failed writes
Insertion and timeout events trigger an alert and a documented retry routine.
Ad tracking
Nobody can tie booked patients back to an ad.
Ad tracking
The conversion analytics button carries UTM tags into your GA4 booking reports.
A new patient books a cleaning on your website at 10 p.m. and gets a confirmation. At 8 a.m. the slot isn't in Dentrix, because the office server running the sync was switched off overnight. Elsewhere, a crown prep booked online lands under the wrong appointment type, so the hygienist's column fills instead of the doctor's. Your marketing agency can't say which ads produced booked patients. And when your app's write fails, nothing retries it, so nobody knows until the patient walks in.
We start with what NexHealth already does well: the Synchronizer, online booking, and Reserve with Google. Then we fix the order of your mapping rules, since the first match wins, and split new and returning patient types. When you need a branded booking page or an app, we build on the NexHealth API and listen for every insertion event. A failed or timed-out write alerts your front desk the same hour, not when the patient arrives.
Mapping rules in order
Specific rules sit above general ones, so each booking lands as the right appointment type.
Every write confirmed
Insertion webhooks report each write, and failures alert a named person instead of waiting silently.
One API, many systems
Locations on Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, or Cloud9 share one integration, not separate connectors.
Our NexHealth Integration Process
You see what NexHealth's own setup already covers, approve the mapping rules and every write we add, and watch test appointments land in your practice system before launch.
We look at each location's practice system, whether it runs on a server or in the cloud, and how NexHealth syncs today. You get a list of what NexHealth's own booking, forms, and Google tools already cover.
Projects We've Built
Medical booking and appointment apps we designed and built. None ran NexHealth, but they show how we handle appointment types, provider schedules, and patient records.

What's Included
Appointment type mapping, a tracked booking button, Reserve with Google, a branded booking page when you need one, write alerts, and a live test with your front desk.
Compare Options
NexHealth's own onboarding covers a lot, and a direct connector suits one system done deeply. Here is where each one fits, and where it stops when locations and systems multiply.
| Feature | DeveloperLookBest fit | Native NexHealth | Per-EHR connectors |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mapping rule review | Ordered and tested per location | Set during onboarding | Built per system |
| Branded booking page | Built on available slots | Default link or button | Custom per connector |
| Mixed practice systems | One API across locations | Included in the sync | One build per system |
| Write confirmation | Webhook alerts on failures | Activity tab for staff | Depends on the vendor API |
| Testing | Live test at one location | Onboarding manager checks | Each system tested alone |
| Setup speed | 1 to 6 weeks | Fastest for standard booking | Weeks per system |
| Cost | From $900, fixed scope | In your NexHealth plan | Fees per vendor program |

What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built booking and patient record software for.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything we’ve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
What I appreciate most is that the website is actually easy for us to manage now. We can update content ourselves instead of sending a developer a message every time we need to change something small. They also paid attention to the technical SEO side, which mattered to us because we didn’t want a new website to create problems for the traffic we already had. I’ve probably asked more questions than I should have since launch, but every question has been handled patiently and without any fuss. The team is easy to work with, they explain things clearly, and when we need something changed, they focus on getting it done rather than making the process complicated.

Work Culture
We confirm every write reaches the practice system, check NexHealth's own features first, and keep patient details out of logs and alerts.
We treat a booking as done only when the practice system has it. Your front desk hears about failures the same hour, not when the patient walks in.
We check online booking, forms, Reserve with Google, and the Synchronizer before quoting code. If NexHealth's own setup already covers your case, we'll tell you before we quote.
We build against NexHealth's sample practice first, then test real writes at one location you choose. Patients only see a booking flow that has passed that live test.
We request only the fields each link needs and keep patient details out of logs and alert messages. Alerts name the appointment, not the patient's health information.
Sandbox and production keys are created in your NexHealth developer account and rotated on your schedule. At handover we list which service uses each key.
You get a fixed proposal after the free review, with every location, rule, and write listed. If we find more work mid-build, we ask before adding it.
Overview
DeveloperLook builds NexHealth integrations for dental groups, medical practices, and health software teams. We order appointment type mapping rules, add tracked booking buttons, and build branded booking pages on the NexHealth API that alert staff when a write fails. Good fit
Dental groups on mixed practice systems
Your offices run Dentrix in one location and Open Dental in another, and you want one booking flow on your website that writes to both.
Orthodontic practices on Cloud9
You run Cloud9 in the cloud, added NexHealth for online booking, and need bookings to keep syncing when nobody's logged in after hours.
Health software teams building on the API
Your app has to read and write appointments in many practices' systems, and NexHealth integrations look faster than one connector per EHR.
Practices wanting a branded booking page
Your website designer wants a booking page in your own design instead of the default link, with tracking that shows which ads produced patients.
Agencies running dental marketing
You run ads and websites for dental clients and need the NexHealth booking button, UTM tracking, and Reserve with Google set up for each one.
Not a fit
Practice runs on Weave
Your front office runs reminders, texting, and payments in Weave instead of NexHealth. Our Weave Integration page covers how it syncs with your practice system.
Direct Dentrix work only
You need Dentrix reports or a direct Dentrix connection, not a NexHealth layer on top. Our Dentrix Integration page covers that system on its own.
Just the booking link
You only need the booking link on your site and Reserve with Google switched on. NexHealth's onboarding covers that, so we'll tell you before we quote.
Need a new dental website
Your website is the real problem, not the booking flow. Our Dental Website Design page builds the site, and the NexHealth booking button comes with it.

Pricing
These are starting points in USD. Your final price depends on your locations, practice systems, and API work, and you get a fixed proposal after a free discovery call.
For Agencies
You own the dental client, their website, and their ads. We supply the NexHealth side: mapping rules, tracked booking buttons, Reserve with Google, and branded booking pages on the API, tested with the front desk. Your agency's name stays on the work.
White label: your client only ever sees your brand
Send the practice's system, locations, website, and the campaigns that need booking data.
We quote a fixed price, then build and test under your agency's name.
You get a white-label runbook and test notes to pass to the practice.

The Right Technology for Your Project
The systems and tools we connect through NexHealth, taken from its supported-systems list, API docs, and help center, so every link runs on a documented route.

A NexHealth integration from DeveloperLook starts at $900 for mapping rules, a tracked booking button, and Reserve with Google checks. A branded booking page on the NexHealth API with write alerts starts at $2,300. Multi-location builds across different practice systems start at $4,500. NexHealth's own subscription and any API usage fees are billed by NexHealth, separately.
Most NexHealth integrations take 1 to 6 weeks. Mapping and booking button work takes 1 to 2 weeks. A branded booking page takes 3 to 4 weeks, and multi-system API builds take 4 to 6 weeks. Cloud practice systems add NexHealth's own setup time, which its docs say can take up to 72 business hours.
NexHealth is software for dental and medical practices that runs the patient side of the front office. Its Synchronizer keeps a copy of each practice's records in step with systems such as Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, and Cloud9. Booking, forms, and messaging sit on top, along with a Health Records API for developers.
It runs online booking, reminders, recalls, a waitlist for last-minute openings, digital forms, two-way messaging, payments, reviews, and insurance verification. Bookings and forms are written back to the practice system through the Synchronizer, so staff don't retype them. Groups and DSOs use it to run one front office across several locations.
Yes, as part of its customer contract. NexHealth's help center says it is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 compliant, and describes a standard BAA included wherever it acts as a business associate. It doesn't sign a practice's own BAA template. Any developer or agency handling your patient data needs its own agreement with your practice.
Yes. NexHealth's developer docs list Cloud9 as a supported cloud system, all versions. The practice creates a dedicated NexHealth user with full admin rights, and workstations that change the schedule need the NexHealth Chrome extension. Sync pauses when nobody is logged in to both, so we plan that routine with your team before go-live.
NexHealth doesn't publish practice prices: its pricing page offers custom plans, month to month or yearly. For developers, its Synchronizer site lists usage-based pricing at $0.10 per API call with a free sandbox, while its docs also mention plans billed on active locations. We confirm current terms with NexHealth during your review.
Through appointment types, provider working hours, and mapping rules. Each appointment type has a length and links to working hours for a provider, a location, and an optional operatory. Blocks in the practice system come off the bookable slots automatically. Mapping rules match by visit type, procedure code, operatory, or provider, and the first match wins.
Not on NexHealth's published list. Its developer docs name 15 supported systems, and Oscar EMR isn't one of them, so we'd ask NexHealth's developer team before planning anything. If NexHealth can't support it, we scope a separate connection to Oscar directly after reviewing what that system offers.
You do. Sandbox and production keys live in your NexHealth developer account, any code sits in your repository and cloud account, and the mapping rules stay in your NexHealth settings. At handover you get a runbook listing each rule, key, webhook, and alert. Your plan includes 14, 30, or 60 days of post-launch support.
