The Problem
It happens every week. A patient requests a time on your website, and that chair is already taken by a phone booking or blocked for a day off.
01 · Blind booking
Patients request times your booking form can't see are taken.
Patients see only times that are free for the right provider and operatory.
02 · Voicemail tag
Your front desk trades voicemails and loses the patient.
Web Sched goes on every page that matters, or custom API pages when you need more.
03 · PDF forms
New patient forms are PDFs someone retypes into the chart.
Web Forms import into the chart and match existing patients.
04 · Call-only plans
Your membership plan page just says to call.
Patients join your in-house plan online, and it's recorded on their account.
A patient fills out the booking form on your website and asks for Thursday at 3. That chair is already taken, so your front desk calls back, trades voicemails, and loses the patient to a practice with real online booking. Meanwhile, the membership plan page says to call, and the new patient forms are PDFs someone retypes into the chart. You pay for eServices, yet your website uses almost none of them.
We start with the tools you already pay for: Web Sched, Web Forms, and eClipboard. If they fit, we place them on every page that matters. If you need more, we build booking pages on its API that read live openings by operatory and provider. Forms import into the chart, membership signups land in the database, and your front desk stops retyping.
Openings read from your schedule
Patients only see times that are free for the right provider and operatory.
Forms that land in the chart
Registration and medical history forms match existing patients and import allergies and medications.
Membership signups online
Patients join your in-house plan on your website, and the plan is recorded on their account.
Our Booking Integration Process
You approve the booking design, the visit rules, and every test appointment before launch. Nothing touches your live schedule until you've checked it.
We start with a free call about your eServices, operatories, visit types, and website. You get a recommended setup, the monthly fees the software vendor charges, and a fixed-price proposal.
What's Included
Booking, intake, and membership signups that write to your database through approved paths, plus testing and documentation your team keeps.
Compare Options
Web Sched on its own is cheaper and handles simple cases well, and a third-party scheduler adds polish. Here is where each one fits and where it stops.
| Feature | DeveloperLookBest fit | Built-in booking | Third-party scheduler |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live openings | Read from your schedule | Yes, by its own rules | Depends on its sync |
| Booking design | Matches your website | Standard hosted pages | Their branded widget |
| Custom visit rules | Built to your rules | Standard settings only | Their options only |
| Intake forms | Imported to the chart | Separate forms setup | Often a separate form |
| Membership signup | Built in | Not included | Rarely included |
| Setup cost | From $550, one time | Your team's time | Their setup fee |
| Monthly cost | Vendor fees only | Vendor fees only | Extra subscription |
| Help after launch | 30 to 90 days | Vendor support desk | Their help desk |
Projects We've Built
Booking apps and a membership site from our portfolio. They cover what an API project needs: live schedules, patient accounts, and recurring payments.
What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built booking apps and API integrations for.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything we’ve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
What I appreciate most is that the website is actually easy for us to manage now. We can update content ourselves instead of sending a developer a message every time we need to change something small. They also paid attention to the technical SEO side, which mattered to us because we didn’t want a new website to create problems for the traffic we already had. I’ve probably asked more questions than I should have since launch, but every question has been handled patiently and without any fuss. The team is easy to work with, they explain things clearly, and when we need something changed, they focus on getting it done rather than making the process complicated.

Work Culture
We learned these habits building schedulers and patient apps. Each one keeps your chart data clean and your front desk out of cleanup work.
The software's makers warn that direct database writes can alter records unsafely and hide who changed them. We use the approved API for every booking and payment.
We map each visit type to the operatories and providers you allow. Hygiene visits stay in hygiene chairs, and emergencies go where you want them.
We sign a Business Associate Agreement before we touch the API, as the vendor's API documentation expects. Your key stays under your control, and you can disable it any time.
Remote API calls are throttled, so we cache open slots carefully and queue each write. Patients get fast pages, and your server isn't flooded with requests.
If Web Sched already does what you need, we'll say so before we quote. Placing it well often beats building something custom.
API keys, eServices accounts, and website code stay in your practice's name. Disable our key, and our access ends right away.
Overview
DeveloperLook builds Open Dental integration for practice websites, using the official API and eServices. We set up Web Sched, build booking pages that read live openings, import web forms into the chart, and sell membership plans online. Projects start at $550, most launch in 1 to 7 weeks, and every write goes through the API.

Good fit
Practices already paying for eServices
You pay for online booking. The link sits on one hidden page, so most patients still call the front desk.
Offices retyping paper forms
Your new patients fill out clipboard forms at check-in, and staff type each medical history into the chart before the exam.
Practices selling membership plans
You offer an in-house membership plan but sign patients up by phone, and payments get tracked in a spreadsheet.
Groups with several clinics
You run clinics in two or three towns and need one booking page that shows each location's real openings.
Developers and agencies
You build dental websites and need a partner who already knows API keys, the BAA, and the eConnector setup.
Not a fit
Running Dentrix instead
Your practice runs Dentrix or Dentrix Ascend. Our Dentrix integration service covers Henry Schein One's authorized booking and forms paths instead.
Imaging bridge setup
You only need an Open Dental bridge to launch imaging or perio software. That's a program link your IT support sets up inside the office.
Direct database scripts
You want scripts that write straight into the database. The software's makers warn against direct writes, so every change we make goes through the API.
Site needs a rebuild
Your budget is under $550, or the site itself needs rebuilding. Our Dental Website Design service builds a new site with booking included.

Custom work starts at $550 for Web Sched and Web Forms placed across your site. Custom API booking pages cost $1,800, and membership signup or multi-clinic booking starts at $3,900. The software vendor bills its own fees too: API keys run from free read-only access to $35 a month per location for full access.
Most launches take 1 to 7 weeks. Placing booking and forms across your site takes 1 to 2 weeks. Custom API booking takes 3 to 5, and membership or multi-clinic builds take 5 to 7. Getting your API key added and the eConnector checked early keeps the schedule on track.
The API lets your website ask for open times and book them directly. We call the Slots or SlotsWebSched methods to show real openings by provider and operatory, then create the visit with the WebSched booking method. New patients get a record on the spot, and the visit appears in your schedule like any online booking.
It's enough for many practices, and it's the cheaper route. Choose custom booking when you need visit rules it can't express, booking inside your own page design, or one flow across several clinics. We'll tell you which fits during the free review, before you pay for anything.
It involves linking your website to the patient portal you already get on support, not rebuilding it. In the portal, patients view statements and pay, see upcoming appointments, review treatment plans, and send secure messages. We add clear login links and explain portal access on your new patient pages, so fewer patients call for balances.
You sync them with Web Forms, free for practices on support, or eClipboard. Patients complete registration and medical history online, forms match to existing patients, and staff import them so allergies and medications land in the chart. An Open Dental web form integration puts those links at the right moment, such as right after booking.
They prevent double-booking by offering only times that are open in your schedule for that operatory and provider. The built-in scheduler applies its own rules, and our API pages request fresh slots right before the patient confirms. If a phone booking takes the time first, the patient is asked to pick another slot.
Yes, through the API. Patients choose a plan on your website and pay through a processor such as Stripe. We record the enrollment as a discount plan subscription on their account. Recording payments in the ledger needs the full-access API tier, which we confirm with you first. Your team still sees every member in the software.
Yes, when every change goes through the approved API under a signed BAA. The software's own guidance warns that direct database writes can alter data unsafely and hide who changed it. We use scoped API keys and encrypted connections and keep patient data out of analytics. You can disable our key from your settings at any time.
Every plan includes post-launch support: 30 days for the booking setup, 60 for custom booking, and 90 for membership and multi-clinic builds. We watch for failed bookings, API errors, and software updates that change behavior. Once it ends, you can book changes when you need them, with every key and document already in your hands.
