Teams we have built for:

The Problem
Every processor gives you a short window to respond, and each claim needs its own proof. Miss either one and the bank keeps the money, even on a good order.
01 ยท Deadlines
A dispute due in 7 days slips past a busy Monday.
Every dispute lands in one queue with its due date.
02 ยท Scattered evidence
Proof sits across Shopify, tracking pages, and Gorgias emails.
Each dispute pulls its order, tracking, device data, and messages into one packet.
03 ยท Generic replies
Every fraud dispute gets the same generic reply and loses.
Each claim type gets the proof its issuer checks.
04 ยท Blind fees
You pay fees on every dispute without knowing which to fight.
Outcomes are tracked per reason code, so you fight the winnable ones.
A dispute email lands in your inbox on Friday: item not received, due in 7 days. Someone has to find the order in Shopify, the tracking page, and the customer's emails in Gorgias, then fit it all into a form. Monday gets busy and the deadline passes. The next Visa fraud dispute gets the same generic reply and loses too. You pay a fee on every dispute and can't tell which ones are worth fighting.
We start with 6 months of your disputes and outcomes, sorted by reason code. Then we build chargeback automation around your systems. Each new dispute pulls its order, tracking, device data, and support messages into a packet shaped for its claim. Your team approves it in one queue before the deadline. Outcomes get tracked per code, so you fight the disputes you can win instead of guessing.
Answered before the deadline
Every dispute lands in one queue with its due date, and packets can submit automatically.
Evidence shaped by the claim
Fraud, not received, and not as described disputes each get the proof issuers check.
Results you can act on
Outcomes per code show which disputes to fight and which to accept.
Our Chargeback Management Process
You see which disputes you lose and why before we build. You approve the evidence map and the price, then check real packets in test mode.
We pull 6 months of disputes from your processors with their reason codes, responses, and outcomes. Your report shows which disputes went unanswered, which codes lose most, and what proof each needed.
What's Included
Every build covers intake, evidence, submission, and reporting: one queue for every processor and a complete packet for every dispute.

Projects We've Built
Online stores and shopping apps we've designed and built. Dispute workflows connect to stores like these through their order, shipping, and support data.
What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built online stores and payment workflows for.
We had a different kind of problem. People were visiting the store, adding products to their carts, and then disappearing before they finished the order. We had tried a few apps and made changes here and there, but nothing really seemed to solve the bigger issue. The team went through the shopping experience with us and pointed out things we hadn't really noticed ourselves. They cleaned up the cart and checkout flow, made the mobile experience much smoother, and helped us make the store feel easier to shop. Iโm not going to pretend we fixed everything overnight, but it finally feels like the store is helping the sale instead of getting in the way of it.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything weโve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasnโt sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.

Work Culture
Winning disputes comes down to deadlines and proof. These habits keep every case on time, with records the issuer can check.
Every dispute enters one queue with its due date as soon as your processor reports it. Nothing sits in an inbox while the window closes.
A not-received dispute needs a delivery scan, and a fraud dispute needs device data and order history. Every claim type you get has its own template.
Some disputes cost more to fight than to lose. Our rules flag them by amount and claim type, so your team spends time on cases it can win.
Packets pull from your store, carrier, and helpdesk, not a generic template. The issuer sees real order history, delivery scans, and messages.
Each month you see wins, losses, and money recovered per processor and product. You know exactly what the workflow earns back.
The workflow runs in your own accounts, and you keep the code, templates, and reports. We take no share of the disputes you win.
Overview
DeveloperLook builds chargeback management workflows that answer disputes before the deadline. With chargeback automation, each new dispute pulls its order, delivery, device, and support records into a rebuttal matched to its reason code. Setups start at $1,200 and take 2 to 6 weeks, and you own the code instead of paying a share of each win.

Good fit
Stores missing dispute deadlines
Your dispute emails sit in a shared inbox, and some expire before anyone answers. The bank keeps money on orders you could have defended.
Teams building evidence by hand
Your support lead spends hours each week copying tracking pages and customer emails into Shopify Payments and Stripe dispute forms.
Merchants on several processors
You take cards through Stripe, PayPal, and Braintree, and each one has its own dispute screen, deadline, and evidence format.
Brands losing Visa fraud disputes
Your fraud disputes lose even when the buyer ordered before. You need their earlier undisputed orders sent as Visa Compelling Evidence 3.0.
Agencies supporting client stores
Your agency runs several client stores and wants a white-label partner to build dispute automation without taking over the client relationship.
Not a fit
Fewer disputes filed
You want fewer disputes filed in the first place. Our Chargeback Prevention Services fix descriptors, delivery updates, and refunds, and add pre-dispute alerts.
Buyers who got their orders
Most disputes come from customers who got their orders and claim otherwise. Friendly Fraud Prevention adds abuser detection before their next order.
Stop stolen-card orders
You need stolen-card orders stopped before they ship. Our Ecommerce Fraud Prevention Services screen orders at checkout and cut fraud disputes at the source.
A few Stripe disputes
You see a few disputes a month on Stripe alone. Stripe's Smart Disputes may already cover you, and if it does, we'll tell you before we quote a $1,200 build.

For Agencies
You own the client relationship. We supply the dispute engineering: webhooks, evidence packets, the review queue, and outcome reports, built under your brand. Your client's support staff stop pasting tracking links into dispute forms.
White label: your client only ever sees your brand
Send the processors, 6 months of dispute exports, and where your client keeps order data.
You get an evidence map per dispute type and a fixed price before committing.
We build the workflow, test it with sandbox disputes, and hand over a queue you can brand.
We build under your brand, and reports carry your agency's name.
Fixed scope, test-mode disputes before launch, and milestones you can share.
Engineers who work with Stripe, Shopify Payments, PayPal, and Braintree dispute APIs.

A representment workflow answers each dispute with evidence before the processor's deadline. The processor reports the dispute and its reason code, your system gathers the records that code calls for, and your team approves the packet. Stripe accepts one submission per dispute, so each packet must be complete the first time.
Evidence that answers the exact claim wins most often. For item not received, send tracking with the delivery scan. For fraud, send the IP address, device data, and earlier undisputed orders from the same buyer. For not as described, send the product page and your messages. Issuers don't open links, so everything goes inside the packet.
A custom chargeback workflow from DeveloperLook starts at $1,200 for evidence automation on one processor. The $2,700 plan adds templates for every reason code, Visa Compelling Evidence 3.0 matching, and helpdesk and carrier data. Programs for up to 4 processors or stores start at $5,200. You pay once, with no share of the disputes you win.
Setup takes 2 to 4 weeks for one processor and 4 to 6 weeks for several processors or stores. Most of that time goes into mapping your dispute types and testing packets with test-mode disputes. Outcome tracking then runs for 30 to 90 days, depending on your plan.
Use a managed service if you want no build, and a custom workflow once its fees on steady volume add up. Many managed services take a share of each recovered dispute. A custom workflow costs more upfront, but you pay once, keep your rules, and pull evidence from any system with an API.
Yes, most chargeback evidence can be collected automatically from your order data. When a dispute opens, code pulls the order, shipping address, tracking, IP address, and support messages, then fills the processor's evidence fields. Shopify Payments exposes those fields in its Admin API, so a finished packet can be submitted without opening the admin.
Yes, all 3 offer dispute APIs, so one workflow can cover them together. Stripe and Shopify Payments send dispute events and accept evidence by API, and PayPal's Disputes API adds evidence to each case. Stripe's response window is usually 7 to 21 days, depending on the card network, so the queue tracks each dispute's own due date.
Record each dispute's reason code when it opens and its outcome when it closes, then divide wins by disputes answered for each code. Our workflow does this from the processors' closed-dispute events. Its monthly report also splits results by processor and product, so you see where evidence works and which codes aren't worth fighting.
Accept a chargeback when your evidence can't answer the claim or the amount is smaller than the cost of fighting. A stolen-card order with no 3D Secure and no customer history rarely wins. Stripe also charges a countered-dispute fee that it refunds only if you win, so small cases can cost more than they recover.
You own the chargeback workflow, including its code, evidence templates, review queue, and dispute data. It runs in your own cloud and processor accounts, with documentation your team can follow. After 30 to 90 days of outcome tracking, most teams run it themselves, and we quote template updates when card network rules change.
