The Problem
Confusion, late parcels, and hidden refunds turn into disputes too. Each one counts against you, even when no fraud happened.
01 ยท Unknown charges
Customers don't recognize the company name on their statement.
Clear billing descriptors show a name your customers recognize.
02 ยท Delivery delays
A parcel stuck in transit becomes an item not received claim.
Delivery updates and an easy refund path head off those claims.
03 ยท Stolen cards
A buyer pays with a stolen card.
Fraud checks add bank authentication to your risky orders.
04 ยท Ratio warnings
Processor warnings arrive before you know which cause is growing.
Alerts let you refund a case before it counts as a chargeback.
A customer sees an unfamiliar company name on their card statement, doesn't recognize it, and taps dispute in their banking app. Another waited 3 weeks for a parcel stuck in transit and filed item not received instead of emailing you. A third bought with a stolen card. By the time each chargeback lands, the fee is charged and the dispute already counts toward your ratio. Your processor starts sending warnings, and you still don't know which cause is growing.
We start by sorting your last 6 months of disputes by reason code, so you know which share is fraud, delivery, or confusion. Then we fix the causes: clear billing descriptors, delivery updates, and a refund path customers can find. Pre-dispute alerts let you refund a case before it becomes a chargeback, and fraud checks with 3D Secure cover risky orders. Your ratio gets tracked every month, not discovered in a processor warning.
Causes fixed, not just fought
Descriptor, delivery, and refund fixes remove the disputes that didn't need to happen.
Alerts before a dispute counts
Refunding through a pre-dispute alert keeps that case out of Visa's monitoring ratio.
A ratio you watch monthly
You see fraud reports and disputes against Visa and Mastercard limits every month.
Our Chargeback Prevention Process
You see the causes behind your disputes before we change anything. Each fix ships only after you approve it and its price.
We sort 6 months of disputes by reason code and match each one to its order, delivery, and support history. You get a short report showing which causes drive your ratio and which fixes matter most.
What's Included
Every project covers the causes, the alerts, and the tracking. You see each dispute source shrink, not just a lower total.
Compare Options
Chargeback prevention companies sell alerts per case, and processor defaults cost nothing. Both help some stores. Here's what each one leaves unfixed.

Projects We've Built
Online stores and shopping apps we've designed and built. Descriptor fixes, delivery emails, and dispute alerts connect to stores like these.
What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built online stores and payment flows for.
We had a different kind of problem. People were visiting the store, adding products to their carts, and then disappearing before they finished the order. We had tried a few apps and made changes here and there, but nothing really seemed to solve the bigger issue. The team went through the shopping experience with us and pointed out things we hadn't really noticed ourselves. They cleaned up the cart and checkout flow, made the mobile experience much smoother, and helped us make the store feel easier to shop. Iโm not going to pretend we fixed everything overnight, but it finally feels like the store is helping the sale instead of getting in the way of it.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything weโve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasnโt sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.

Work Culture
Chargebacks mix fraud, logistics, and customer service. These habits keep every fix tied to a real dispute cause you can see.
We sort your disputes by reason code before recommending anything. The fix for a late parcel is different from the fix for a stolen card.
When an alert arrives in time, a quick refund often costs less than a chargeback and its fee. We set rules so small cases refund automatically.
We make the name on the card statement match your store and receipts. Charges people recognize get disputed far less often out of confusion.
Each month you see fraud reports, disputes, and alert refunds side by side against card network limits. Surprises show up in our report first.
You approve the fix plan and a fixed price after the free dispute review. Alert network fees are listed separately, so nothing surprises you later.
Some disputes will still happen, and some are worth fighting instead. If your real problem is past chargebacks, we'll tell you before we quote.

Good fit
Stores near a processor warning
Your processor emailed about your dispute rate. You need disputes cut fast, and you want to know which causes matter most.
Stores with unrecognized charge disputes
Your customers dispute charges they don't recognize. Your statement descriptor shows a legal entity name nobody connects to your store.
Subscription and recurring brands
You bill customers every month. Forgotten renewals turn into disputes, so you need reminders, easy cancellation, and alerts that refund first.
Shopify stores fighting chargebacks
You sell on Shopify and handle every dispute by hand. Shopify chargebacks keep arriving weeks after orders ship, each with a fee.
Agencies managing client stores
Your agency supports several stores and wants a white-label partner to cut client chargebacks without taking over the relationship.
Not a fit
Landed chargebacks
You need chargebacks that already landed disputed with evidence. Our Chargeback Management Services team handles representment and deadlines.
Mostly friendly fraud
Most of your disputes come from customers disputing real purchases or abusing refunds. Friendly Fraud Prevention goes deeper on that pattern.
Gateway authentication only
You only need 3D Secure configured on your gateway. Our 3D Secure Implementation service is the smaller, faster fit for that job.
Rare disputes
You get a dispute or two a year. Clear policies and your processor's defaults are enough, and an $850 setup won't pay for itself.

Fix the causes first, then catch the disputes that still start. Clear billing descriptors, delivery updates, and an easy refund path remove most confusion disputes. Fraud checks and 3D Secure handle stolen cards. Pre-dispute alerts from Verifi and Ethoca let you refund a case before it becomes a chargeback, and a monthly ratio report shows what's working.
Most chargebacks come from 3 sources: stolen cards, customers disputing real purchases, and fixable store issues like unclear descriptors or late parcels. Visa files every dispute under 4 categories: fraud, authorization, processing errors, and consumer disputes. Your own mix decides the fix, which is why we start by sorting your disputes by reason code.
Setup starts at $850 for dispute analysis plus fixes to descriptors, delivery emails, and your refund path. Adding pre-dispute alerts and fraud screening costs $1,850, and multi-processor programs start at $3,600. Alert networks charge their own fee for each alert. You get a fixed quote after the free dispute review.
Cause fixes take 1 to 2 weeks. Alerts and fraud checks take 2 to 4 weeks, and multi-processor programs take 3 to 5 weeks. Monitoring then runs for 30 to 90 days depending on your plan, so every fix gets measured against your actual ratio instead of a guess.
Expect alerts to cut new disputes within weeks and your full ratio to fall over 2 to 4 months. Cardholders can dispute most purchases for up to 120 days, so disputes on older orders keep arriving for a while. Alerts help sooner, because they resolve new cases before they're filed.
Visa's current Excessive level is a 1.5% ratio of fraud reports and disputes to online card sales. It applies to merchants in the US, Canada, and Europe with 1,500 or more a month. Mastercard's program starts at 1.5% with 100 or more chargebacks. Processors often act sooner, because Visa measures their whole portfolio from 0.5%.
Resolve disputes before they count, then shrink the causes. Visa's rules leave disputes settled through pre-dispute tools, like Rapid Dispute Resolution, out of its monitoring ratio. Fixing descriptors, delivery updates, and refund access removes the confusion disputes. Watch your sales volume too, since Mastercard divides this month's chargebacks by last month's sales.
Yes, and each covers a different moment. Fraud scoring stops risky orders at checkout, and 3D Secure shifts fraud liability to the card issuer when authentication succeeds. Alerts catch disputes after the sale but before a chargeback. Many chargeback prevention software tools cover only one of these layers, so we connect all 3 and report them together.
Start with the free settings that cut chargebacks. Shopify gives you 3: a clear statement descriptor, order status emails with tracking, and fraud analysis on every order. Shopify Protect covers fraud chargebacks on eligible Shop Pay orders in the US. For the rest, we add Flow holds for risky orders and alerts on your processor.
You keep every fix, alert rule, and report, plus a playbook for your support team. Most stores run the monthly ratio check themselves after the 30 to 90 days of monitoring. If your ratio climbs again, we can quote a focused review of whatever new cause is behind it.
