The Problem

Guests Find You, Then Book Somewhere Else

It shows up when guests search your hotel by name and land on your website. Then they leave for an OTA, because your own booking step is slower, pricier, or broken on a phone.

  1. Lost dates

Guests pick dates on your site, then pick them again.

    Lost dates

Your website passes dates and guests to the engine, so nobody types twice.

  2. Rate gaps

Your own website shows a higher rate than the OTA does.

    Rate gaps

Rates and restrictions come straight from your PMS, so every channel matches.

  3. No packages

Weekend packages and add-ons can only be booked by phone.

    No packages

Packages, add-ons, and promo codes become bookable products inside the engine.

  4. Phone checkout

The card form breaks on small screens and guests give up.

    Phone checkout

Checkout is styled to your brand and tested on mid-range phones before launch.

A couple finds your hotel on a map, opens your website, and taps Book Now. The engine opens in a new tab, forgets their dates, and shows a rate higher than the OTA's because nobody updated a rate plan. Your weekend package isn't bookable online at all. On a phone, the room photos load slowly and the card form zooms off the screen. They book through an OTA instead, and you pay a commission on a guest who chose you first.

We start with your PMS as the source of every room and rate, then set up the engine to read it directly. Rate plans, minimum stays, packages, and promo codes are configured once and shown the same everywhere. Your website hands guests to the engine with their dates already filled in, and the checkout is tested on mid-range phones. When no vendor engine fits, we build a custom one on your PMS's booking API.

  • Rates from your PMS

Rooms, rates, and restrictions read from your PMS, not typed into a second system.

  • Packages you can sell

Stays with breakfast, spa credit, or parking become bookable offers with their own rules.

  • A handoff that keeps dates

Your website's date picker opens the engine with dates and guests already chosen.

Our Hotel Booking Engine Integration Process

From OTA Dependence to Direct Bookings in Five Steps

You approve the engine, every rate plan and package it shows, and the checkout on your own phone before your website's Book Now button points to it.

  1. We book your hotel ourselves on your website and on two OTAs, then compare the steps, rates, and phone experience. You leave with a list of gaps and an engine recommendation.

What's Included

What You Get With a Hotel Website Booking Engine Setup

An engine chosen or kept, a live PMS connection, rate plans and packages, a website handoff that keeps dates, booking tracking, and an optional custom build.

  • Engine choice in writing

A comparison of engines that fit hotels your size, including whether your PMS's own engine is enough.

  • Live PMS rates and rooms

Rooms, rate plans, and restrictions read from your PMS or channel manager, so prices match everywhere.

  • Packages, add-ons, and codes

Packages, add-ons, promo codes, and member rates set up as bookable offers with their own rules.

  • Website handoff with dates

Your date picker passes dates and guest counts into the engine, styled so guests stay on your brand.

  • Booking tracking in GA4

Completed bookings and revenue tracked across the engine's domain, so you see which marketing fills rooms.

  • Custom engine when needed

A custom build on your PMS's booking API when no vendor engine matches the way you sell.

What Our Clients Say

What Clients Say After Launch

Feedback from teams we have built booking, travel, and payment products for.

We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.

Work Culture

Why Hotels Trust Us With Their Direct Bookings

Your engine is the last step between a guest who found you and a guest who pays you. These habits keep that step short and accurate.

  • We book your hotel first

Before we change anything, we book your hotel the way a guest would, on your site and on OTAs. The gaps a guest hits are the ones we fix first.

  • Straight answers on engines

If your PMS already includes a good engine, we'll tell you before we quote. Paying for a second engine only makes sense when the first truly falls short.

  • Tested on real phones

Many of your guests book from a phone. We test every step of the checkout on mid-range phones and slow connections, not only on a desktop.

  • Offers that stay accurate

Promo codes, packages, and member rates get end dates and limits from the start. An expired code that still works quietly costs you money.

  • Fixed scope, written down

You get a fixed proposal listing the engine, rate plans, packages, and handoff work. Extra work is quoted and approved by you before it starts.

  • Your hotel owns the engine

Engine, payment, and analytics accounts are opened under your hotel, not under us. You can remove our access in one step after launch.

Good fit

  • Independent hotels relying on OTAs

Your bookings mostly arrive through OTAs, and your own booking page is slow enough that guests abandon it on their phones.

  • Small hotels choosing a first engine

You run a small property and want an honest comparison of booking engines for small hotels before you sign a contract.

  • Hotels switching engines

Your current engine shows wrong rates or breaks on phones, and you want to switch without losing future reservations.

  • Hotel groups needing central booking

You run several properties and want one engine across the group, with search by destination and dates.

  • Brands wanting a custom engine

Your brand needs a custom hotel booking engine on your PMS's API, because no vendor engine fits your booking flow.

Not a fit

  • Budget under $1,200

Your PMS comes with its own engine and you only need the Book Now button pointed at it. The vendor's own setup guide will do.

  • New hotel website needed

Your website itself is dated and hard to use. Hotel Website Design covers the room pages, photos, and site design.

  • Vacation rentals, not rooms

You rent villas or apartments with rental agreements and damage deposits. Direct Booking Website Development fits short-term rentals better.

  • Systems behind it don't sync

Your bookings arrive fine but don't reach your POS, locks, or CRM. Hotel PMS Integration covers the systems around your PMS.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on cost, timelines, how engines work, choosing one, custom builds, Google prices, and hotel chains.

  • Hotel booking engine integration starts at $1,200: one vendor engine connected to your PMS, styled, and linked from your website with dates carried over. Packages, promo and member rates, and multilingual checkout come with the $3,300 plan. Custom engines on your PMS's booking API start at $7,400. The engine's own fees are billed by the vendor.

  • A vendor engine connected to your PMS and website usually goes live in 1 to 3 weeks. Packages and multilingual checkout add about a week. A custom engine on your PMS's booking API takes 8 to 12 weeks. Your current Book Now button keeps working until the new engine passes test bookings.

  • It's the internet booking engine hotel guests use on your own website to check availability, pick a room and rate, and pay. Unlike an OTA, it sells only your property, and the guest's payment comes straight to you. Searches for a booking engine in a hotel mean the same thing: the direct reservation step on your site.

  • It reads your rooms and rates from your PMS, shows what's free for the guest's dates, and takes the reservation with payment. The booking writes straight back to your PMS, so the room disappears from every connected channel. Most engines run on the vendor's domain or as a widget on your site.

  • A booking engine development company builds it on your PMS's booking API. Apaleo's Booking API, for example, returns offers with rates and availability and accepts new bookings. Mews offers a Booking Engine API alongside its standalone page and widget. We build the search, room choice, extras, and payment steps, then test every rate plan you sell.

  • The best one reads your PMS without double entry, sells your packages, and works well on phones. For booking engines for small hotels, the engine your PMS already includes is often enough. Larger or more design-led hotels may want SiteMinder's engine or a custom build. We compare options against how you actually sell rooms.

  • Hotel chains usually need an engine tied to a central reservation system, with multi-property search and shared rate rules. Sabre's SynXis Booking Engine is one that hotel groups use. The right choice depends on your central reservation system and PMS mix, so we map those first before recommending an engine.

  • Yes, usually through a connectivity partner. Google's hotel free booking links show your direct rate when your engine, channel manager, or central reservation system sends Google your prices. Those links carry no placement fee. We check whether your engine is one of those partners and test that the prices shown match your PMS.

  • No, in most cases you keep your PMS and switch only the engine. The new engine connects to the same PMS or channel manager, and your future reservations stay where they are. We confirm the new engine supports your PMS before you sign anything, because a missing connection is the costly surprise.

  • Your hotel does. Engine contracts, the payment provider, and analytics are set up in your hotel's name, so changing agencies later costs you nothing. Our logins are temporary: after 30 days of booking support we remove them, and new packages or seasonal rates can be quoted when you need them.
