LET'S DISCUSSWe had a different kind of problem. People were visiting the store, adding products to their carts, and then disappearing before they finished the order. We had tried a few apps and made changes here and there, but nothing really seemed to solve the bigger issue. The team went through the shopping experience with us and pointed out things we hadn't really noticed ourselves. They cleaned up the cart and checkout flow, made the mobile experience much smoother, and helped us make the store feel easier to shop. I’m not going to pretend we fixed everything overnight, but it finally feels like the store is helping the sale instead of getting in the way of it.

The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything we’ve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.

Head of Marketing of Lumen Outdoor
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.

07Work Culture
Why Merchants Trust Us With Store Accessibility
Default themes still ship with filter, cart and checkout problems, so we look there first. These are the habits we bring to ecommerce accessibility work.
Filters, cart and checkout first
We start where shoppers get stuck and where lawsuits begin.
Fixed in your theme
Changes live in the code, not in an overlay.
Theme versus app issues
We tell you which problems come from your theme and which from an app.
Tested with real tools
Screen readers and keyboard-only checks are part of every audit.
A documented effort
You get an accessibility statement and a record of fixes.
Honest about scope
We say up front what an audit covers and what remediation adds.
08Overview
Is my Shopify store ADA compliant, and are Shopify themes accessible by default?
Baseline accessibility varies by Shopify theme, and customization often breaks tab order regardless of the starting point. Shopify is also the most-named platform in accessibility lawsuits at over 32%. Filters often fail since they need ARIA live regions for updated results and aria-expanded states for open panels, which most apps skip. We audit and fix your theme, filters, cart, and checkout, and do the same for WooCommerce and BigCommerce.

Who it's for
Shopify store owners unsure if their theme is compliant
You don't know if your specific theme and customizations pass WCAG 2.1 AA.
Stores with product filters or faceted search
Filters update results without announcing the change to screen reader users.
Businesses that need checkout tested, not just the theme
Cart and checkout forms are where the highest-risk issues usually live.
WooCommerce or BigCommerce merchants, not just Shopify
You want the same audit and fix work regardless of platform.
Stores relying on an accessibility app instead of real fixes
You've installed an app and aren't sure if it actually solves anything.
Not a fit for
You want a platform-agnostic audit without ecommerce-specific filter and checkout testing. Our WCAG Audit Services or ADA Website Audit covers the general version.
You already have your audit results and just need the fixes made across any platform. Our Accessibility Remediation Services covers that.
You want an ongoing consulting relationship with training and monitoring bundled in. Our Accessibility Consultant service covers that.

Is my Shopify store ADA compliant?
The only way to know is to test your specific theme, filters, cart, and checkout against WCAG 2.1 AA, since the ADA references that standard through courts and DOJ guidance rather than certifying platforms directly.
Are Shopify themes accessible out of the box?
It varies by theme, and even a well-built starting theme often breaks once merchants customize layouts, since that regularly creates confusing or illogical tab order. We test your actual theme rather than assuming based on its name.
Why are product filters a common accessibility problem?
Filters update the product list dynamically, and that needs an ARIA live region so screen reader users are told results changed. Filter panels also need aria-expanded to signal open or closed state. Most filter apps skip both, along with keyboard navigation for the filter controls themselves.
Can you make my checkout accessible?
Yes. We test and fix checkout form labeling, error messaging, and focus handling. On Shopify Plus that includes checkout UI extensions and Shopify Functions, since checkout.liquid is deprecated and non-Plus stores have far less checkout customization available.
How much does Shopify accessibility remediation cost?
An audit starts from $899. Remediation is quoted separately based on how many issues are found across your theme, filters, cart, and checkout.
Do accessibility apps make my store compliant?
No. Automated overlay-style apps only catch about 30 to 40% of WCAG issues and can't fix the rest, since they sit on top of the page instead of changing the underlying filter, cart, or checkout code.
How long does it take to fix a Shopify theme?
Most theme-level fixes take 1 to 4 weeks depending on how many templates, filters, and apps are involved. We give a firm timeline once the audit is done.
Can you do the same for WooCommerce or BigCommerce?
Yes. The audit and remediation approach is the same: test the actual theme, filters, cart, and checkout against WCAG 2.1 AA, then fix what's found, regardless of platform.
