Yes, often. Many apps inject code, snippets, script tags, or theme sections, into your theme when installed, and not all of them remove it automatically when uninstalled. That leftover code can keep loading and slowing down your pages indefinitely.
We check your theme.liquid file, theme sections, and injected script tags for code tied to apps you no longer have installed, then remove what's no longer needed without affecting functionality you're still using.
We recommend a full audit at least once a year, or any time you've added several new apps, switched themes, or noticed a drop in speed or conversion rate since your last review.
There's no fixed number, since it depends on what each app does, but as a general rule, if you can't clearly explain what an app does and why you still need it, it's a candidate for removal. Most healthy stores run somewhere between 5 and 15 active apps.
