The Problem
It shows up between the first demo and the first paying users. The AI part looks done, but accounts, payments, usage limits, and app store rules decide whether the product survives.
Exposed keys
The model API key ships inside the app.
Exposed keys
Requests go through your backend, which holds the key and checks each user.
Unknown cost
Nobody knows what one active user costs per month.
Unknown cost
A cost per active user estimate comes from tests on your real data.
Free-tier drain
Free users burn through the model budget.
Free-tier drain
Usage limits per plan protect margins, and paying users get priority.
Slow replies
The app freezes when the model provider slows down.
Slow replies
Timeouts, streamed replies, and a backup model keep the app responsive.
You built a demo over a weekend: an app that calls an AI model and returns something impressive. Investors liked it. Then the real questions arrived. The API key sits inside the app, where anyone can pull it out and run up your bill. Nobody knows what one active user costs per month. Free users hammer the AI feature while paying users wait. When the model provider slows down, the app just spins. And app store review hasn't even started.
We start by pricing the AI, not just the build. We test the AI feature on your real data, estimate what each active user costs, and choose the platform with that number in mind. Then we build the full app around it: accounts, payments, usage limits per plan, and AI calls routed through your own backend with fallbacks. You launch with known unit costs and an app that holds up as usage grows.
Cost per user first
We estimate the AI cost of each active user before the build plan is final.
Keys stay on your server
Every AI request runs through your backend, so no API key ships inside the app.
Web and mobile ready
React Native or Flutter reaches iOS and Android from one codebase, with web alongside.
Our AI App Development Company Process
You approve the AI test results, the cost per user, and the designs before the build. Then you test each feature on a staging build every week.
We talk through your app idea, the AI feature at its center, your users, and your budget. You get our honest read on what to build first, the main cost drivers, and a fixed price for the prototype.
What's Included
Everything a working AI product needs: the AI feature proven on your data, the app around it, the backend that controls costs, and a store-ready release you own.
Compare Options
An AI app builder suits quick internal tools and tests, and a freelancer suits a small, well-defined feature. Here is how a team compares with a solo AI app developer once the app has to earn money.
| Feature | DeveloperLookBest fit | AI App Builder | Freelancer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product planning | AI tested before the build plan | Template-led, you plan alone | Depends on the brief you write |
| Custom features | Any feature your users need | Limited to the builder's blocks | Good for one defined feature |
| AI cost control | Per-user limits and cost dashboard | Builder's pricing, limited control | Often left for later |
| API key safety | Keys held on your backend | Handled inside the builder | Varies by developer |
| First version | Prototype in 2 to 3 weeks | Hours to days | 1 to 3 weeks for small features |
| Starting cost | From $1,350, fixed scope | Lowest, a monthly subscription | Lower hourly rate |
| App store release | Submission and review handled | Some publish, many stay web only | Sometimes included |
| Ownership | Code and accounts are yours | Tied to the builder's platform | Yours if the contract says so |
Projects We've Built
Mobile and web apps we designed and built, including the dashboard for CognifyHR, an AI recruitment software company. They show our app product work, not one AI app build each.

What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built apps, platforms, and websites for.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything we’ve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
What I appreciate most is that the website is actually easy for us to manage now. We can update content ourselves instead of sending a developer a message every time we need to change something small. They also paid attention to the technical SEO side, which mattered to us because we didn’t want a new website to create problems for the traffic we already had. I’ve probably asked more questions than I should have since launch, but every question has been handled patiently and without any fuss. The team is easy to work with, they explain things clearly, and when we need something changed, they focus on getting it done rather than making the process complicated.

Work Culture
Founders often pick an AI app development company for its demo reel. They stay because we get the unglamorous parts right: unit costs, key safety, store releases, and code they own.
We price what the AI costs per active user before we plan features. Your subscription price then covers the model bill instead of hoping it will.
We route every AI request through a backend we build for you. A copied app bundle can't expose your API key or your budget.
If a rule or a search box does the job better than a model, we'll say so before we quote. AI goes where it earns its running cost.
We test on mid-range iPhones and Android phones, not only simulators. Slow networks and slow model replies are part of every test plan.
We keep model calls behind one interface in your backend. When a cheaper or better model appears, switching is a config change and a test run.
Code, store listings, cloud accounts, and model keys are in your name from day one. Nothing depends on our logins after handover.

Good fit
Founders with an AI app idea
You have an AI product idea and need a working prototype and real cost numbers before you raise money or quit your job.
SaaS teams adding a mobile app
Your web product already uses AI and customers want a phone app. You need ai mobile app development that reuses your accounts and AI backend.
Businesses outgrowing a no-code AI build
Your app builder prototype found real users, but limits, costs, and missing features now block your growth.
US companies wanting US contracts
You're looking for an AI app development company in USA time zones, with a US company on the contract and calls during your workday.
Agencies selling AI apps
Your clients ask for AI apps, and you need artificial intelligence app development delivered under your brand by a senior team.
Not a fit
One feature, existing app
You already have an app and need one generative feature added to it. Generative AI Development covers that work without a full app build.
AI not the core feature
You need an iPhone or Android app where AI isn't the core feature. Our Mobile App Development page is the closer match.
Internal tool, few staff
You need a simple internal AI tool for a handful of staff. A no-code AI app builder will likely do it for less.
Budget under $1,350
Your budget is under $1,350 for the whole app. Start with a no-code builder prototype and come back once users prove the idea.

Developing an AI app with us starts at $1,350 for a working AI prototype tested on your data. A launched AI App MVP on the web or cross-platform mobile starts at $4,600, and a Web and Mobile AI App with paid plans starts at $9,400. You get a fixed quote after the prototype or a free discovery call.
AI app development cost has two parts: the one-time build and the monthly running cost. The build is the fixed project price. Running costs cover model usage, hosting, storage, and store fees, and they grow with active users. We estimate the running cost per active user during the prototype, so your pricing covers it from day one.
Four things drive the cost: the number of platforms, the number of AI features, the data the AI needs, and payments or integrations. A web prototype with one feature sits at the low end. iOS, Android, and web with subscriptions and several AI features sit at the high end. Model choice mainly changes running cost, not build cost.
Platform choice changes AI application development cost more than most founders expect. A web app is the cheapest start. React Native or Flutter covers iOS and Android from one codebase for less than two native apps. Fully native Swift and Kotlin apps cost the most, and they pay off mainly for heavy on-device AI or camera work.
Most AI apps launch 8 to 12 weeks after kickoff, including the 2 to 3 week prototype. Web and mobile apps with subscriptions and several AI features take 12 to 16 weeks. App store review adds a few days, so we plan launch dates around it and submit early builds for review when that helps.
Choose a team that shows you the AI working on your data before quoting the full build. Ask how they protect API keys, what one active user will cost, how they handle app store review, and who owns the code and accounts. A short paid prototype tells you more than any portfolio of polished screenshots.
You integrate AI by calling the model through your own backend, not straight from the app. The app sends the user's request to your server, which checks the user's plan, adds context from your database, calls the model, and returns the result. For private or offline features, smaller models can run on the phone with Core ML or LiteRT.
AI can write a lot of app code, and no-code AI builders can produce simple apps, but a production app still needs engineers. Accounts, payments, data security, store review, and the cost of AI at scale are where AI-generated apps usually stall. We use AI coding tools ourselves, and a developer reviews and tests every change.
Hire an AI app developer in-house when the app is your core business and needs daily work for years. A development company fits when you need design, mobile, backend, and AI skills at once to reach launch. Many founders launch with a team, then hire their first developer to take over the code we hand off.
You own everything: the source code, App Store and Google Play listings, cloud accounts, and model provider keys are in your name from the start. We hand over documentation and a cost dashboard. Each project comes with 30 days of fixes and questions after handover, and ongoing support is available as a separate plan.
