How your project runs
Teams we have built for:

The Problem
It shows up when your shop runs on Square, Clover, or Lightspeed and your website runs on Shopify. Every sale in one system leaves the other one wrong until someone fixes it.
01 · Oversells
A product sells in the shop and online at once.
Each shop sale lowers Shopify stock at that shop's location.
02 · Manual entry
Someone retypes weekend sales into Shopify every Monday.
Sales and stock changes flow between systems, so nobody retypes them.
03 · SKU mismatch
The same product carries a different SKU in each system.
Every variant gets one SKU before the first sync runs.
04 · Duplicate buyers
Customers who buy in both places appear twice.
Customer records match by email, so each buyer keeps one history.
Your last medium jacket sells at the counter on Saturday morning, and someone buys it online an hour later. You refund the online order and apologize. On Monday, someone retypes the weekend's sales into Shopify by hand. A new product goes into your POS with one SKU and into Shopify with another, so no connector can match them. Prices drift because each system runs its own sales. Customers who buy in both places show up as two different people.
We start by matching every product variant by SKU, because a sync can only update what it can find. Then we map each shop to a Shopify location and decide which system owns stock, price, and product content. Where a listed connector or Lightspeed's built-in integration fits, we set it up properly. Where it doesn't, we build a custom sync with retries and alerts. Your website sells what's actually on the shelf, not last week's count.
Every SKU matched first
Your variants get matched by SKU or barcode before the first sync, so no product is left behind.
Each shop, its own location
Stock tracks per Shopify location, so your online buyers see what each shop actually holds.
One owner per field
Your POS owns stock and price, and Shopify owns photos and descriptions, unless you choose otherwise.
Our Square, Clover and Lightspeed Sync Process
You approve the SKU match list and the field owners before anything syncs, then test a sale in the shop and online yourself.
We look at your POS, your Shopify plan and locations, your catalog size, and any connector you tried. You get a plain answer on whether a listed connector covers you or a custom sync is needed.
What's Included
A catalog match, location mapping, field ownership rules, a connector or custom sync, alerts for failed updates, and tests at the till and online.
Compare Options
Connector apps cover many standard catalogs, and Shopify POS removes the sync entirely by sharing one admin. Here's where each one fits a store that sells in person and online.

Projects We've Built
Online stores and shopping apps our team designed and built, including a hardware retailer and a coffee ordering app. They show where we work, not POS syncs.
What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built online stores and system integrations for.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything we’ve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
What I appreciate most is that the website is actually easy for us to manage now. We can update content ourselves instead of sending a developer a message every time we need to change something small. They also paid attention to the technical SEO side, which mattered to us because we didn’t want a new website to create problems for the traffic we already had. I’ve probably asked more questions than I should have since launch, but every question has been handled patiently and without any fuss. The team is easy to work with, they explain things clearly, and when we need something changed, they focus on getting it done rather than making the process complicated.

Work Culture
A sync error shows up as an oversold product or a wrong count on the shelf. These habits keep your Square, Clover, or Lightspeed sync accurate on busy trading days.
If your till is due for replacement anyway, Shopify POS shares one catalog with your store and needs no sync. If that fits better, we'll tell you before we quote.
Lightspeed X-Series includes its own Shopify integration, with Retail POS as the system of record. We set it up where it fits and flag what it skips, such as promotions and gift cards.
Clover allows 16 requests per second per token, and Lightspeed limits requests by register count. Custom syncs queue and pace their calls, so a busy Saturday doesn't stall them.
We switch syncs on after your shop closes, not during trading. Your staff start the next morning with matched stock and a list of what changed overnight.
Which system owns stock, price, and product content goes in a short document you approve. Your team knows where to edit a price so the change survives the next sync.
Connectors stay on your own subscriptions, and any custom sync code is stored in your repository. You can hand it to your own team or another developer at any time.
Overview
DeveloperLook builds Shopify Square integration and Clover or Lightspeed syncs for stores that sell in person and online. We match every SKU, map each shop to a Shopify location, decide which system owns each field, and set up a connector or custom sync with alerts. Projects start at $700 and take 1 to 6 weeks.

Good fit
Boutiques with one shop and a website
You ring up sales on Square and sell online with Shopify, and you want a Shopify Square integration that stops weekend oversells.
Retailers on Lightspeed X-Series
You run Lightspeed X-Series in your shops, and the built-in Lightspeed Shopify integration needs setting up around your outlets, variants, and promotions.
Cafes and shops on Clover
Your counter runs on Clover, and you want a Clover Shopify integration that keeps your online catalog in step with what's in stock.
Multi-shop retailers with mixed systems
You run several shops, some on Square and some on Lightspeed, and you need to connect Shopify to Square and Lightspeed without double counting.
Agencies with retail clients
Your agency built the client's Shopify store, and you need the POS side matched, synced, and documented behind your brand.
Not a fit
Marketplaces, not a till
You need stock shared with Amazon, eBay, or Walmart rather than a shop counter. Our Multichannel Inventory Sync page covers that work.
Accounting, not stock
You need sales, fees, and payouts posted to Sage, Acumatica, or MYOB. Our Shopify Sage, Acumatica and MYOB Integration page covers that.
Replacing your till anyway
You're replacing your till hardware soon and don't need two systems. Shopify POS shares one catalog with your store, so no sync is needed.
Budget under $700
Your budget is under $700 and your catalog is small and simple. A listed connector app set up by your own team will cover you.

White label: your client only ever sees your brand
Send the client's POS, Shopify store, shop list, and a catalog export.
You get a SKU match report and a fixed quote for your client.
We sync, test at the till, and hand over a guide under your brand.
You run the retail client while we handle the sync work.
Each shop and POS priced up front for your proposals.
Field owners and location maps written down for your team.
Integration developers for retail launches without another hire.
The Right Technology for Your Project
The POS vendors' own APIs and webhooks on one side, Shopify's GraphQL Admin API on the other, with a small queue that retries what fails.

A Shopify Square integration starts at $700 when a listed connector fits one shop, including SKU matching for up to 1,000 variants. A custom sync on Square's APIs costs $2,100, and up to 4 shops or 2 POS systems cost $4,400. The same prices apply to Clover and Lightspeed, each fixed after a free review.
Yes, you can ring up in-person sales on Square and sell online with Shopify. The catch is two catalogs and two stock counts, so every sale in one system leaves the other out of date. A connector or a custom sync closes that gap, or Shopify POS replaces Square entirely.
Not out of the box: Square doesn't build its own Shopify integration. Its December 2025 announcement names a partnership with Thrive for catalog, inventory, and sales sync, and apps such as SKU IQ list Shopify sync in Square's App Marketplace. We check which option fits your catalog before building anything custom.
Yes, through an app or a custom build on Square's APIs. Square's Catalog, Inventory, Orders, and Customers APIs cover what a sync needs, and its inventory.count.updated webhook fires whenever a count changes. On the other side, Shopify's GraphQL Admin API sets your stock per location, and calls slow down when Square asks.
Yes, as your in-store till while Shopify runs the website, as long as stock syncs between them. Map each Square location to a Shopify location so counts stay separate per shop. If your Square hardware is due for replacement, compare Shopify POS first, since it needs no sync.
Yes, Lightspeed X-Series has a built-in Shopify integration that shares products, inventory, customers, and sales. Lightspeed R-Series doesn't, and Lightspeed's own support pages point R-Series users to the third-party Mortar app instead. We set up whichever applies to you and check what each one leaves out before the first sync.
On X-Series, connect Shopify from Retail POS, map each outlet to a Shopify location, and choose what syncs. Retail POS becomes the system of record, so product changes start there. Price books, promotions, loyalty, gift cards, and store credit don't carry over, so we plan a Shopify Lightspeed integration around those gaps.
Neither wins for every store: Shopify POS shares one catalog and customer list with your website, so there's nothing to sync. Lightspeed suits shops already built around its inventory tools, and it sells its own online store, Lightspeed eCom. If you're keeping Lightspeed, an integration costs less than switching.
Not directly: Clover doesn't build a Shopify integration, but third-party apps on the Clover App Market and the Shopify App Store sync the two. When those apps can't handle your item groups or locations, a custom Shopify Clover integration uses Clover's REST API for items and stock, plus its inventory webhooks.
Yes, Clover works as your counter till while Shopify runs online, once items and stock sync between them. Clover treats each variant as its own item inside an item group, so we match those to Shopify variants by SKU before the first sync. Clover's rate limits then set the pace of every update.
