The Problem
Tableau sites drift over time. Analysts publish their own copies of the same data, workbooks pile up, and the dashboards people rely on slow down or disagree.
01 · Duplicate sources
Five published copies of sales data, each counting returns differently.
One certified source per subject, with every workbook pointed at it.
02 · Slow renders
The executive workbook takes 30 seconds to load.
Performance Recording finds the bottleneck, then extracts and simpler calculations fix it.
03 · Silent failures
Extract refreshes fail overnight, and nobody finds out.
Failure alerts go to an owner, with schedules spread across the night.
04 · Stale access
People who left can still open finance projects.
Group-based permissions per project, reviewed before launch.
Your Tableau site has 300 workbooks and 5 published versions of the sales data source. Two of them count returns differently, so the regional dashboards disagree. The executive workbook runs a live connection to an overloaded database and takes 30 seconds to render. Extract refreshes fail overnight, and nobody notices until a manager sees last week's numbers. Permissions were set user by user, so people who left still see the finance projects.
We start with the data sources, not the dashboards. We pick one trusted source per subject, publish it, certify it, and point the workbooks at it. Performance Recording shows which queries and calculations slow each workbook, and we fix them with extracts, simpler calculations, and fewer marks. Permissions move to groups by project. Every view then reads from a source someone has signed off.
Certified data sources
One published source per subject, certified so analysts know which one to build on.
Workbooks tuned by evidence
Performance Recording pinpoints the slow queries, calculations, and layouts before we change anything.
Permissions by group
Project permissions set by group, so access follows roles instead of individual names.
Our Tableau Consulting Services Process
You see the Performance Recording findings, the source plan, and matching totals before any workbook is repointed or any user changes sites.
We open your slowest workbooks and your site structure, run a Performance Recording, and list what slows them down. You get a findings list and a straight answer if a few calculation fixes would do.
What's Included
Each engagement fixes what slows your site down today and sets rules that keep it tidy. Most include these six parts, from workbook tuning to training your Creators.
Compare Options
A freelancer suits one quick workbook fix, and a large consultancy suits an enterprise-wide program. Here is how each fits a Tableau site that has grown messy.
| Feature | DeveloperLookBest fit | Freelancer | Large consultancy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Performance Recording and site audit | The workbook you send | Discovery workshops |
| Data sources | Certified, one per subject | Usually embedded copies | Governed, at larger scale |
| Performance | Tuned with recorded evidence | Fixed from experience | Part of a wider program |
| Security | User filters and group permissions | Only if you ask | Formal governance model |
| Cloud move | Planned with Bridge and schedules | Rarely in scope | Included in big programs |
| Speed to start | Within a week of review | Often within days | Weeks of scoping |
| Ownership | Everything stays in your site | Your site, their notes | Depends on the contract |
| Cost | Fixed price from $1,000 | Hourly, often lower | Day rates, usually higher |
Projects We've Built
Finance, trading, and store admin dashboards from our portfolio. None runs on Tableau, but each puts sales and activity data in front of the people who act on it.
What Our Clients Say
Feedback from teams we have built analytics dashboards and web apps for.
We had a pretty specific idea of what we wanted our website to become, but I wasn’t sure how easily we could explain all of it to a development team. There were quite a few moving parts, and we were working toward a deadline, so I expected a few things to get lost along the way. That never really happened. They understood what we were trying to achieve, kept us updated throughout the process, and got everything ready within the agreed timeline. The final site feels much easier to navigate, works beautifully on mobile, and is noticeably smoother for our customers. It was a huge relief seeing the original idea actually turn into the website we had in mind.
The mobile experience is probably my favourite part of the new site. We had spent a lot of time making sure the desktop version looked right, and the team kept pushing us to think about how everything would actually feel on a phone too. They were right. The navigation is clean, the interactions feel natural, and everything we’ve tested so far works exactly as it should. They also went through the links, forms, integrations, and other details more than once before launch, which I really appreciated. And even after going live, we could still reach out when something came up. The whole process felt friendly, organised, and surprisingly straightforward.
What I appreciate most is that the website is actually easy for us to manage now. We can update content ourselves instead of sending a developer a message every time we need to change something small. They also paid attention to the technical SEO side, which mattered to us because we didn’t want a new website to create problems for the traffic we already had. I’ve probably asked more questions than I should have since launch, but every question has been handled patiently and without any fuss. The team is easy to work with, they explain things clearly, and when we need something changed, they focus on getting it done rather than making the process complicated.

Work Culture
Tableau sites grow quickly and drift quietly. These habits keep your workbooks fast, your sources trusted, and your licenses matched to real use.
If a handful of calculation fixes solves your slow workbook, we'll tell you before we quote. Bigger site work waits until it's clearly needed.
We record performance before and after every change. You see load times improve on the workbooks your team actually opens.
Analysts build on certified sources instead of private extracts. Two dashboards that show revenue now show the same revenue figure.
We check who creates, explores, or only views before you renew. Creator, Explorer, and Viewer roles should fit how people really work.
We're an independent Tableau consulting company, not an official Salesforce partner. You get practical help without a license sales target behind it.
Workbooks, data sources, and schedules live in your Tableau site under your accounts. Your Creators can change any of it without us.

Good fit
Teams with slow Tableau dashboards
Your Tableau dashboards take 30 seconds to load, so managers export to Excel instead of filtering the view they were given.
Sites full of duplicate data sources
Your Tableau site holds five versions of the sales data source, and two workbooks show different revenue for the same month.
Companies retiring Tableau Server
You run Tableau Server on your own machines and want to move to Tableau Cloud without breaking extracts, schedules, or permissions.
Teams new to Tableau
You just bought Creator and Viewer licenses and need a Tableau consultant to set up projects, data sources, and the first dashboards properly.
Agencies with Tableau clients
Your agency's clients run Tableau, and you need Tableau consultants who will deliver dashboards and fixes behind your brand.
Not a fit
You run Power BI
Your company standardized on Microsoft Power BI rather than Tableau. Our Power BI Consulting Services page covers models, DAX, and rollouts.
BI tool not chosen yet
You haven't picked a BI tool and want KPIs defined before choosing one. Our BI Dashboard Development page is tool-neutral and starts there.
No warehouse underneath
Your data sits in many systems, and Tableau connects to each raw source. Our Data Warehouse Consulting Services page sets up the layer underneath first.
Budget under $1,000
You need one calculated field fixed, and your budget is under $1,000. Tableau's help pages and community forums often cover it, and we'll tell you before we quote.

A Tableau consultant is a specialist who designs, tunes, and governs Tableau dashboards and the data sources behind them. They work in Tableau Desktop, Prep, and Cloud or Server, and know how extracts, calculations, and permissions behave at scale. Companies usually hire one for a defined project, such as a cleanup, a rollout, or a Cloud move.
They turn raw tables into trusted published data sources and fast dashboards. Day to day, that means writing calculations and level of detail expressions, running Performance Recordings, setting extract schedules, and building user filters for row-level security. They also structure projects and permissions and train Creators to build on certified sources.
Our Tableau work starts at $1,000 for tuning up to 3 slow workbooks and certifying their data sources. An implementation with up to 6 dashboards, row-level security, and refresh schedules starts at $2,900. A department rollout or a Tableau Server to Cloud move starts at $5,900. Tableau licenses stay on your own account.
A workbook tune-up takes 1 to 2 weeks, and an implementation takes 3 to 6 weeks. A rollout or Cloud move takes 6 to 10 weeks. The slowest part is usually agreeing which data source is the trusted one. Admin access to the site and recordings from real users speed up the first week.
On a data team, the role sits between the engineers who load tables and the business users who read dashboards. The consultant turns tables into certified sources, sets the site's standards, and coaches analysts to build within them. On smaller teams, they also act as site administrator until someone in house takes over.
The best one is the company that fits your site size, budget, and data, not the largest name. Big Tableau consulting firms suit enterprise programs with many workstreams, while smaller teams move faster on focused fixes. Compare Tableau consulting companies by asking to see a tuned workbook, a certified source they built, and a fixed quote.
Not for most projects. An official Tableau consulting partner in Salesforce's partner program can resell licenses, which matters for large enterprise purchases. For tuning, data sources, permissions, and Cloud moves, hands-on skill matters more than a badge. We're independent, so we don't resell licenses and recommend only what your site needs.
Most slow Tableau dashboards come from heavy live queries, complex calculations, or too many marks and quick filters. A Performance Recording shows which events take longest, such as executing queries or computing layouts. Fixes include switching to extracts, moving calculations into the data source, cutting filters, and splitting one crowded dashboard into two.
Move if you'd rather stop patching servers and running upgrades, and your data can reach Tableau Cloud directly or through Tableau Bridge. Stay on Server if your rules require self-hosting. We plan the move project by project, re-create schedules and permissions, and test each workbook against the Server version before users switch.
Yes. Every plan includes 30 to 90 days of support for fixes, questions, and refresh issues. After that, you can keep a monthly plan for new dashboards and site checks, quoted separately. Workbooks, data sources, and schedules stay in your site, so your Creators can carry on without us.
